I thought Hurrell looked like he deserved a reputation tbh, Leeds just weren't able to take advantage of his effort last night.
He was through our line in contact every carry virtually, he's gonna be one of their positives this season.

Few views from a neutral....

1) Wakey are a very good team and a lot of fans on here have been a little bit disingenuous about that. Big, powerful forwards, powerful, fast backs and as much as I hate the scabby little scrote icon_lol.gif Brough was very good last night and Tupou is a cracking player. With the size of that pack they shouldn't get bullied down the middle too often. Pretty sure I predicted Wakey top 5 pre-season and I'll stick with that. London was a bit of an aberration but we all have days like that (Salford more than most icon_lol.gif ).

2) Leeds do have some quality players but I think they'll be up and down this year. Salford blew up against them the other week and I think a few Leeds fans got a bit carried away with where they're at. Mid table for me this year.

3) Can we please start a petition to ban wannabe musicians from all Super League grounds. How Leeds fans cope with that every week, f*ck knows! They're not the only ones of course but if stewards are banning people from bringing bottles of water etc into the ground then they can do us all a favour and confiscate drums and trumpets. icon_evil.gif a026.gif

Oh and Wakey's away kit is very nice. Coupled with the home one I reckon they're definitely the smartest outfit this year.

I didn't, he was blowing, he was clumsy, he made errors - he's an OK player but his reputation over here seems to be superstar son no he didn't look anything like his reputation - this may not be his fault as the media have bummed him to daeth but there you go.

As for getting through our line, when exactly, you could say Lyne did the same in fact he did better.

TBF Hurrell did punch a few holes and is a massive handful with ball in hand but he's obviously not fully fit and defensively a bit of a liability. Get him up against a fast centre with decent footwork and he'll struggle. He's fun to watch tho!

By no means is he Mal.Meninga but if he gets up to speed he'll be a welcome addition to SL.

I remember while sky had to make do last season and the band placed them selves below the commentary team and Eddie made the comment for them to move away. it needs addressing seriously.
the one good thing is that in the second half it seemed to go a little quite icon_lol.gif

He's much like many of the other "big units" that play centre / wing.
Sau at Salford can be a beast and Carney on the wing etc.

If you give them plenty of traffic and turn them round regularly, they lose much of their potency.
Having said that, if the hit a decent ball 15 metres out, they will score all day long.

Leeds pack were well beaten and Watkins had an absolute mare, which Trinity exploited to maximum effect.

A job well done and Headingley does tend to be a tricky place to go and come away with the points.

It's way too early in the season to get carried away, more a case of getting some points on the board.
Leeds have some decent players (including Watkins, who will come good - he's a class player). They look to have bigger issues in their pack and in the halves and although they needed quota spots, why have they allowed Garbutt to go to KR, a poor decision.

I hate the drum at Wire. Does my sweed in!

But the out of tune trumpets at Leeds, with the drum, are even worse!
https://youtu.be/DI0zJ8ltlXQ

It wouldn’t surprise me if the passive fans, potential fans that the game needs to capture and even union fans who do watch a bit of league would all switch off - even if Leeds had the greatest rugby league side in world history - because of that daft band.

It’s not a good advert for the game, it’s like a prank from an anti-RL brigade who are trying to make the sport look like a joke.
