| It was an awful game and an embarrassing Wires performance. Five major final defeats in a row for us now. Maybe one day we'll finally get round to replacing Adrian Morley. We might have a chance when we do.

| If Wire had had Blake Austin playing instead of Roberts, they might have won that game.

| Roberts has been a poor signing, but he wasn't even our worst half back today, never mind our worst player. Considering it was probably the best chance he'll ever have of winning a trophy in his career, Brown was absolutely dreadful.

| Congratulations to Catalans, great boost for the game in France & the game in general - it even made the I.T.V. news!
I thought their completion rate was superb until the last twenty & gave them the edge. I wasn't that impressed with Warrington's spine, especially Brown & Roberts.
Overall an enjoyable game, with the result being in the balance right to the end. Well presented by the B.B.C. & the R.F.L & a new name on the trophy - a good news story for once.

| There no pleasing some folk. Best live final I've been to in years. Some real hard work and guts on display today.

| There was no quality on display whatsoever. I know perspective is different from a nuetral point of view compared to when you're emotionally involved, especially when you lose, but I really can't see how that was a good game. Our display was genuinely painful to watch.

Pretty much every final has hard work and guts on display, nothing really different there. Apart from one 40/20 can’t remember a real moment of quality and not exactly going to be a game that sticks in people’s heads in terms of actual action or highlights. One team were poor and clumsy so that never makes for a great game and that the opposition only just held on against them means they weren’t that great too.
Think people are getting caught up in the result and the 2nd team feeling towards Catalans which clouds their judgment. Play the exact same game but replace Catalans with Saints or Hull for example and same people wouldn’t be as generous on the match.
I’m just looking at it for a proper neutral POV because I don’t buy into this “they’re my 2nd team” nonsense. Don’t recall many saying it and supporting Catalans several weeks into the season when Wire thrashed them or when they were struggling last year but once they got to a SF people jumped on the bandwagon trying to feel success off of them because there own team had fallen short.

| Too many English supporters equate fancy play with quality. Part of the reason Australia always beat us. To me that was one of the best RL matches I have seen in a long time.way better than last year's dross.

Seriously? Do you watch the NRL? Where there is much more 'fancy play' as you put it, because the players have the skill level to carry it of. But of course it's done on the back of sold forward play and good field position. It wasn't the worst Final. as the result was in doubt till the end, but compared to the NRL game I watched straight after, the differnce in sheer quality was massive.

I'm sure the faux French Warrington fans from the semi final, were happy to have a second opportunity to use their Catalan flags to wave their new team to victory.

Who said anything about fancy play? I don’t think the shocking completion rate by Warrington equals quality, I don’t think 26 missed tackles by Catalans by HT equals quality. Numerous knock ons and players lacking composure in attacking position doesn’t equal quality. 3 of the 5 tries scored because players fluffed their lines dealing with kicks doesn’t equal quality.
Clearly these things are quality to you.
If that’s the best you’ve seen in a long time I take it you didn’t watch Catalans SF match which was a miles better game.

| I think Catalans defence was made to look better than it actually was by the fact that our attack was absolutely toothless too. The game was tight (although I never really felt we would get it back) which is the only possible thing you can call a positive. There was absolutely no quality.

| I am surprised that nobody has mentioned the fact that Catalans were missing two key forwards: Gregory Bird and Louis Anderson. That victory with an under strength pack seems even more impressive then. The French replacements stood up and took the game to the Cheshire men.

| It is very rare a Final is full of top quality scintillating rugby. They’re more often than not nervous affairs where the team that does the basics better wins.
Today was no different, did I enjoy my day out at Wembley? Most certainly, far more so than if I’d stayed at home and watched it on telly.
