JEAN, you're obviously having orgasms over one game. Calm down dear.
BTW - How are Calamitous Catalans doing atm?

| Quote: Sir Kevin Sinfield "Last season every clubs biggest home attendance was for their Toronto fixture, so the no away fan argument is nonsense.'"
Just to give balance to this argument, you have to look at why this would happen.
An overseas club filled with superstars comes to town to play against your part time team ??
It's not rocket science to see that there would be some additional interest form curious RL fans.
This situation will change when they are playing tougher opposition and if Toronto become "average" rather than beating every team that they come up against (due to spending 5x as much on players), this situation would probably reverse.
I fully agree that clubs shouldn't be reliant on away support but, the atmosphere at games where there are zero away fans doesn't draw people in.
Hence the reason why the local derby matches are so interesting. THe atmosphere cranks up a few notches and there is passion from BOTH sets of fans.
In the new "world league" this atmosphere simply wont exist, it does happen already when Catalan come to town and now that they are bottom feeders, battling to avoid the drop the "draw" of playing an overseas club has disappeared completely.
Be careful what you wish for, we could well end up playing half of the fixtures against "mute" opposition and fans will not turn up if every game is like being in a library.

Good on you old "foller." There is an English language school here in Carcassonne that is not too expensive. Would you care to enroll in it for the good of the forum?

Crucial Catalans narrowly lost against league leaders and premiership favourites sensational St. Helens, by three tries to two. No doubt a better performance than most Super League clubs would have been able to produce.
Everyone in southwestern France is looking forward to the return of Anthony Gigot, and to witnessing the attacking skills that he possesses. You will soon see Catalans on the winners' list.

While we are on the subject of correcting errors in spelling and grammar, this in fact is the North American spelling of the word 'enrol' To the best of my knowledge, non-American, English speaking folk, (including those from France and Chorley) would spell it with just one 'l'. Maybe you were aiming that comment at our friends from Toronto?

Saints had a player red-carded early in the second half. Yet clumsy Catalans could not benefit from having the extra man, on their home ground.

Sensational St. Helens could beat most teams while playing with only twelve men -- that is how good they are. Convivial Catalans only had the one man advantage for 17 minutes -- and they were not far off from winning..

| Looks like Brave Barrow and Fearless Fev are doing their best to stop Lenegan's wet dream becoming a reality.

What a vicious and uncouth attack on the most intelligent and cultured entrepreneur in rugby league. Ian Lenagan deserves the respect of everyone for his strategic clarity and foresight.

Jean, mon ami, I fear you are right. My post was both tasteless and uncalled for; only one second had elapsed after I submitted it before I regretted its disrespectful content. I only hope I haven't offended your delicate sensibilities too badly, or indeed those of M. Lenagan.
Mis-spelling his name was inexcusable.

| Interesting scoreline from Cumbria today. Looks like it might be a pretty competitive Championship this year.
