Well, the amount of lobbying from the Loiners to rally the “R.L. Family” into voting for Sinfield is thoroughly enjoyable .

We are the most myopic bunch of supporters in Christendom & I’m sure, if it was say Tomkins up for the award, the majority of Leeds fans would rather stick pins in their eyes than spend three bob promoting the game.

You can vote for free with a BBC ID, I'll certainly be voting for Sinfield and Leeds aren't exactly one of the clubs I might have a soft spot for (despite battering the dobbins in the CC final ) but I respect the rugby they played this year and whatever the reason he was nominated for he's on the list so gets my vote and I normally wouldn't bother.
It'd be one in the eye for the establishment, a great coup for RL and whatever Sinfield might think about the whole process it'd be good for him too and a fitting culmination to his career.

Sinfield captained Leeds in a season they won every competition available to them. That is a pretty stellar season.

Id agree that Sinfield has played better, id even agree that he has been more important to leeds in some years, but there hasnt been a more successful year, and there hasnt been a year he has achieved more.
