| No one to blame but himself. Makes you wonder how he has made so much money if this is the general quality of his leadership and strategic planning? Rather than lay out a realistic 5 year plan. Building the infrastructure, jnr programs, marketing and team he wants instant success and thinks throwing lots of money at ageing stars will buy him it. Sorry mate sport rarely works out like that.

I guess the difference is that he made his millions in a business in which he was an expert; and made further millions by taking up horse-racing, where he was advised by other experts.
He seems to have blundered into the RL world without any knowledge beyond enjoying watching St Helens, and has been advised by a series of people who didn't have a clue how to build for long term success; fantasy RL is an enjoyable diversion, but it's not a blueprint to build a viable club.
I'm sure there are CEO's and Coaches out there who could have taken the money and enthusiasm he brought to the table to create something fantastic - sadly, they weren't at Salford.

| All the money he's spent, top of the shopping list should have been an experienced club ceo, marketing manager and player manager for recruitment. Not sure what he has spent his 5mill on considering the SL grant covers 50% of the players wage bill?

I agree with the first part - and without making specific allegations, I'd be very surprised if that team of mercenaries was put together within the salary cap.
I also understand that he's spent a fair whack on training facilities and the youth set-up?

| Well that's going to take 5 years at best to start to bear fruit. So hope he is not bored yet.

That article contains nothing but speculation. It's also very poory written, resembling a journalists notes for an article he's about to write more than an article itself.

| But lets go along with the speculation for a while and assume he pulls out of Salford. Is there any kind of fall back plan for them at all? Do they have other part owners or Directors who could support the club if he were to pull out? Does Koukash have any sort of legal obligation to the RFL?

The only other director of both Salford City Reds (2013) Limited and its parent company, Mkac Investment Partners Limited, is an Andrew Chalmers. Presumably, there is enough cash from SKY coming in to sustain the playing squad for the remainder of the season (the SKY money should more than cover the salary cap), without needing any more investment at the moment/
That would assume that someone wanted to buy the club off Koukash, and they could agree a fee with him.
Worst case, I guess he could just pull the plug, sack everyone and wind up the business if he wanted to.

The parent company, MKAC Investment Partners, have recently been served with a first notice of dissolution by Companies House for non-filing of accounts. If they are not filed within the next 6 weeks then they will be struck off.

In comparison to other Super League squads, is it that bad?
Whilst I am sure he will pass comment on playing personnel, I assume Koukash would like some guidance and advice on the structures which are in place at the moment and how these could be improved upon.
Fingers crossed during his time at Salford Marwan manages to offer him enough money to convince him to take over the reigns on a permanent basis. I can dream!

| The way I see it, apart from Iestyn being an average/poor coach, is if you're going to have a squad with some top class international players and x factor players with real quality, the rest of the team need to be very competent and confident in defence if nothing else.
Wigan and Saints have a squad full of players who are committed and competent in defence and also a few x factor players to break the line and create tries.
It's no good having Locke, Rangi and BJB when you've got Mason Caton Brown out wide.
