| Quote: McClennan "That is madness although I'm sure his status as an England player should be more than enough to comply with a visa. Deporting a current England international would be ludicrous.'"
Why, he isn't British no matter what country he plays for. If his conviction has made him ineligible for a visa thats his own fault for being stupid.

| This isn't rugby league being rubbish, incidentally. rlEngland international Darren Pattinson will be classed as an overseas player next season should he re-sign with Nottinghamshirerl. Darren Pattinson was born in Grimsby, for informations sake.

| I think the visa he currently has is OK until the end of the season. The regulations have changed since he got his last visa and so changing it is difficult. Whether he has these same problems at the end of the season remains to be seen.

A visa has to be reapplied for if he changes employer, for the next three years at Cas he will have a valid visa. If (when) he leaves at the end of the year, he will have to apply for a new one.

| Re: Rangi Chase.
From what I understand he has been refused a visa. This is because, since his last visa was approved, he has earned himself a conviction for GBH. This will still be the case in 6 months and beyond, and is likely to stop him getting another British visa.
It's unfortunate for Hull that his inability to get a visa means he is unable to change employers. However, it might be more unfortunate for Cas who may have a big problem should Chase need to renew his visa before the end of his current contract (the depends on the conditions of his existing visa).
His only options may be Catalans or NZ Warriors as the Australians are more strict than the UK with regards to visas.

By not being able to get a visa he would be in breach of contract and Cas wouldn't to pay him, unless there's a clause in his contract that says they must do no matter what. That kind of clause is very unlikely.

| Quote: Panda92 "The interview with Pearson is pretty interesting (for FC fans atleast).
I don't like what he said along the lines of, 'we will continue to invest in players until we win something. I know how much I can afford.'
It's like he has left a small fry football club and because he now feels like a big shot in a smaller budget game he feels that he can use his financial position to bully other clubs, like a small scale Abramovich.
That kind of attitude isn't good for sport.

| Guess youth development doesn't matter any more. I mean why invest in your own players when you can steal them from other clubs who actually follow the ideals of licensing, hey?

Well said sir. I must admit, if I were a cas fan I'd be more than peeved at Hull Fc. They rape and pillage your club and all you hear in return is..... Cas are our second supported club ya'know! I wonder why???. And your right about their youth ranks, they got no-one coming through after crooks. And who have they brought through since Houghton? A guy from featherstone called briscoe. The rest they have arnt super league standard. Pi55 poor for a club their size!

| Have to laugh at the last two posts. Considering the better players at there respective clubs came through there own Academy systems.
Hull have being neglected for years by Kath Hetherington and co, resulting in poor training facilities and a lack of top coaching staff. Add to the fact Richard Agar was the head coach and you already have a recipe for disaster. This neglecting has meant that almost 95% of our youngsters who have come through the ranks never make SL level and end up playing championship before ending up at West Hull.
This is something Pearson noticed after a few days as owner of the club and with immediate effect changed the whole backroom staff and changed training facilities to a state of the art set up. We have already this season given full time deals to several of younger players who could be saved and have heavily invested in under 15's and 16's. With some of them being paid for by Pearson to go to Australian schools to learn there trade (the same schools the likes of Chase and Marshall came from).
The problem we have is we won't see the success of all this investment for about 4 to 5 seasons so obviously we have to sign plug gap players during that time. Pearson has spent a lot of money and he is entitled to want to be successful because that is what puts bums on seats. Pearson won't enjoy the spending, in fact he will hate it being the financial man that he is. However he is willing to invest to see a return and by signing top quality players he will get that.
Maybe instead of pointing the fingers at our club for pinching your players why don't you point the finger at your own for failing to keep them. Chase didn't want out overnight, they were plenty of promises Castleford have broken to him.
