To be fair to Schoey he's well balanced...........a chip on both shoulders

Playing in exceptional teams often makes good players look excellent. Edwards was a very good player at domestic level, but I think his reputation is flattered by the team he had around him. For those harping on about the number of trophies Edwards won, I just have to ask you why you aren't clamouring for Wigan to sign Ian Kirke, (who despite having won as many trophies as anyone in the last 8 years is a constant subject of derision on the Southstander board.)

Schofield on the other hand excelled at every level, often behind beaten packs, and domestically in a much less successful team.

They'll both undoubtedly remain legends of the game, but Schofield (damaged goods or not) was IMO a much better player.

It is a simple matter of who would you rather have in your team. Edwards by a country mile.

Thurston might not have the flair and speed of Benji Marshall. But I would still rather see him at Wigan than Benji. He would have a much bigger influence on the team despite not breaking the line every time he gets the ball.

I remember the great fanfare of Edwards' signing and have always wondered why the fuss? To me he was very one dimensional with his only real asset being that of being v good at backing up the dominant Wigan pack of the day. If he'd played for almost any other club I doubt he'd be held in such high esteem or have gained as many caps.

I know that for most of Fev's coaches of that era the thought of 'how do we stop Edwards' never crossed their mind as they knew Deryck Fox would easily nullify him.

In my opinion if he hadnt spent the last 10 years being a complete knob, he would have won this poll by alot more.

If I was a coach or player I would have Schofield in my team, I just wouldn't want to give him a lift to and from training or have a pint with him afterwards.

Schofield would always vote for Schofield. If he was chocolate he would eat him self. That's a lot of chocolate.........

schofield has recently been found at a internet cafe where he was caught voting for himself 60 times!

He was only in there because he thoughts they sold cakes and sausage rolls.
