Go ask Wests fans what they think of his a player, they would laugh at you for even suggesting his best days are behind him.

Pearson is most Hull fans dream choice of chairman, I was stunned last summer when news broke that he had bought the club.

He is a great spokesperson and has a lot of experience in sport (was marketing manager at Leeds United, Chairman at Hull City, Chief Executive at Derby Country and remains as Hull City's Director Of Football)

he also has had a reputation at Hull City for not accepting mediocrity (has sacked several under-performing managers) and strict financial control (he had sold the club before Hull City's Premiership spending spree that almost left them bankrupt)

Ellis might well have taken the best offer, as countless great signings have done over the years.
That said, if money was his only motivation then he wouldn't have finalised the deal in mid-March. He'd have let the bidding war continue for a few months yet. As a Hull fan I'm really excited about this signing icon_smile.gif

Gutted he's signed for Hull. Would've been good to see him play for Cas or Hudds.

We'll see. We all said that about Warrington 5 years ago when they started throwing money around. Adam Pearson has promised to continue to invest until we are at the top. Now players know we are serious, there will be more to follow. A lot of clubs are struggling financially all we will do is throw money at them for their best youngsters

I find it strange that everyone seems to talk about Hull as if they've never signed a marquee player before and the previous owners never should this 'intent'. Off the top of my head in previous seasons Hull have signed Swain, Fitzgibbon, O'Meley, Sing, Blacklock, Berrigan and Crocker (although I know he never turned up) and they also shelled out 6 figures for Westerman.

Personally I'm not too bothered about missing out on Ellis and I wish him all the best but I bet if he was an Aussie people would view this signing rather differently.

Yeah, there would be more people praising Hull for signing one of the best (if not best) player in the world at his position.
