Your fans. And Castlefords fans.'"
So thats Leeds fans and Castlefords fans then?

Armadillo is a Leeds fan? Well apologies, I had him down as a Wildcat which is understandable considering the time he spends sticking up for them.
My point's still stand though.

| i think 12 years of sky money would cover a 'adequate' stadium of some kind.

And yet we now see Wakefield suggesting it will take just £ 500,000 to make BV ' adequate ' for SL compliance

Which is totally different to purchasing a stadium.
Are you being deliberately awkward?

Moi ? , never , I am very understanding of the problems associated with getting a new stadium , as I posted earlier , if fit for purpose and safe it should not matter , revenue streams are more important than rows of shiney empty seats IMO , and the much ' vaunted ' corporate spend gets better at a new stadium argument doesn't always work out either , what you tend to find is because of the increased costs , you find it harder to attract your previous customers

Fair enough and yes I agree with a lot of that.

I know Leigh is an example of this but they are not in super league, I'm sure if they were then the stadium would have huge benefits.
It has for every other super league club.
You must also remember a stadium is a LONG TERM investment... it's not just about revenue next season, it is the next 100 years.

I mentioned nothing about the benefit to RL or Quins as a RL franchise.'" I wasn't having a pop actually.
I was making the point that what we are doing at NCP isn't new and that the FC poster had missed that point.
We are working on upgrading NCP but we will have a temp stand undercover instead of the Amsterdam stand and some folks/trolls are still having pops.

Surely any European funding should only apply to the sections of the ground that are in Belgium?
[sizeYes, I know the UK is in the EU as well, but then the joke wouldn't work.[/size

'disastrously'? Why? Because it's a poor area? Ive not seen many classy areas of Bradford, and it's RL, we hardly need our stadia in flash areas. It's an all seater stadium in the city. The pitch is too short mind you!!

| Quote: deeHell "I find it very hard to believe Weldon Roads value is the same as funding a brand new stadium. '"
Cas were originally selling WR to a housing developer. I'm not sure on the final figure but it would be plenty, but probably not a massive amount to fund a fancy shiny new stadium in full. The latest idea is to sell to Opus who build supermarkets for the big boys. This is by far a greater value sale than what would be to a housing developer. At a guess, and I claim to be no expert, it's more of an £18m now compared to a £7m before? I've no proof on figures, but just giving you the general idea. So yes, the sale of WR to Opus would fund the new stadium. The talk of £150m banded about is for the whole project, Cas wouldn't get anywhere near that.
Back tracking 6 months or so, many people were saying that the problem Cas had was funding. The murmurs from Cas were that we'd probably have enough money to build, but it may be a staged build or a less fancy stadium. This was at the time we were selling to a housing developer. I've no idea if the housing developer pulled out or stalled or if we chased for a better deal elsewhere but somewhere along the lines Cas found out that selling to such as Opus, with planning permission for a new stadium would be far more beneficial, hence the latest stall.
I hope that gives you an idea of what is happening, without every one else's point scoring, bitching, petty name calling etc that goes off on every single other thread on the boards. I'm no expert, have no insider info, I wasn't talking to an old guy in the market who takes RWs dog for a walk and I don't work for Legoland or any other building construction firm.

If the RFL let them in then they will make a profit, otherwise they make a loss and eventually go bust
If you dont have a new stadium the RFL wont let you in, so you go bust
If you try and build one with no income, you go bust
hurrah, only SL and amateur clubs left
