the business plan is there and now at last they have the financial backing to stop other clubs poaching their players.

had the current setup been in place a few years ago we would probably have kept the likes of; westwood, ellis, mason, griffin, brough, atkins, grix etc.

the imports only come in to replace the likes of these. young british talent was simply a luxury we could not afford.

hopefully that has changed.

The argument switches to suit doesn't it, on the one hand we get told Quins (including previous identities) are an ESTABLISHED RL team with 30 years of top flight rugby behind them, in fact the Quins team even produced a replicas Fulham shirt with 30 on it. Then, when the argument suits they are an expansion team who must be protected at the cost of non-expansion teams. While I think that the expansion argument is ok with Crusaders for the next round of franchises, Quins must be treated the same as the rst of SL when it comes to a franchise and not protected as they clearly are.

regardless of franchising points/decisions etc.

the problem with expansion teams seems to be that no one cares enough to part with their money to watch or sponsor.

yes it is fantastic that more RL is being played in london and wales, but this in no way helps to pay the bills of quins or crusaders.

quins have a sugar daddy so should be fine, however crusaders have no way of operating a SL team on the money coming in from 2k gates and very little sponsorship.

the term ing in the wind comes to mind. i would advise you just dont bother.

I'm constantly amazed that only Wake are seen as likely to lose their SL place. A team just down the road from them are no better in terms of youth, community, (new) ground but have considerably less potential to grow their fanbase.
