| I don't know why so many people are going for Richards. All he's done is catch bombs and kick goals. His general play outside of that has been pretty unspectacular. There are far more deserving candidates from around the league and I'd even go for either of the Tomkins or O'Loughlin from Wigoon ahead of Richards.

It's his 5th season anyway, and althoguh he is too old and can't be taken into consideration he's still only 23'" So is Greg Inglis, in fact Tomkins made his SL debut a month before Inglis made his NRL debut. It's almost as stupid as the people mentioning Ben Harrison, who is a week younger than Jarryd Hayne.

Said this to somebody else but, you musn't watch him much then if you think he just catches and kicks.
He takes the ball up more than anybody else in our team, makes loads of metres andhelps the forwards out a lot. Unlike a lot of other wingers Pat genrally doesn't just score walk in trys either, some of the tries he's scored have been amazing. give the ball to pat 20 metres or less out, more often than not thats 4 points for Wigan.

| MOS- Pat Richards, 3rd most meter maker in Super League, top try scorer, top goal kicker, top points scorer, safe as houses under a bomb and solid in defence, need I go on?
YPOTY- Liam Watts, Slotted into the KR with relative ease and would be an outsider to make the 4 nations squad.
COTY- Mick Potter - Not everyone's first choice, but he has had to deal with injuries to key players for big parts of the year, i.e Pryce and Eastmond, add Cunningham at the moment. Has had it tough and is on course for a 2nd place finish, and not far off a Wembley appearance too. He doesn't get enough credit in my opinion.

Not COTY, but certainly a galaxy better than some of the knee-jerkers at Knowsley Road would have you believe.
Simmons has a tough job next year and Bradford have got themselves an excellent coach.

20 Metres out with no one in front of him. He must be a fantastic in the untelivised games because he just looks solid in every game I have seen him.
I am not saying he is a bad player but I would hope you would need to be better to win MOS. Lesley V had several seasons at Bradford better than Richards in 2010 and he was never in the running. The reason for that was that it was a given that Lesley was made to look good by his team mates and I think you could say the same for Richards.

Thats my opinion of him. He's solid, nothing more. His goalkicking gets him more plaudits than it should and he's not scored many tries that players like Chris Hicks or Francis Meli wouldn't score. Good in the air, but MOS for that? No chance. He wouldn't be a major star in the NRL and wouldn't be Irish if he was any good either, he'd be Australian.
There are plenty of players who have had more influence over their side's season than Richards at Wigan. Pryce and Roby at Saints, McGuire, Peacock and Sinfield at Leeds, Clinton Shifcofske and Jarrod Sammut at Crucrucrusaders, Newton and Dobson at KR, Tomkins and Coley at the Goons, Monaghan, King and Westwood at the Dire to name just a selection.
But it's now just a glorified popularity contest anyway and holds little meaning.

| The award lost its meaning when the press gave it to a half decent Stains substitute a couple of years ago cause he was young and British.

Is that the player who was the main reason behind saints finishing top and reaching the grand final. Remind to what great achievement did Barrett help Wigan to?

Trent Barrett was a myth. He was never actually over here.
