| to be fair to the Panthers, they still put in over $500,000 in ’09 to the juniors alone and therefore the presumption that a few million would have gone to the Football Club.

Oh, now all of a sudden when it suits you, the newspaper link you damned as my supposed source is gospel? Tw*t
Anyway the link says "'It will amount, with some write-downs, to about $11 million". Nowhere does it say it's all write-downs. And what about losses for the 5 previous years? Were they all write-downs too?
Let me ask a simple question, and we'll see if you can give a straight answer rather than twisting like a snake.
If Panthers aren't in financial dificulties, why have they cut the football club grant by one million dollars?

| as long as they can afford to hire your mate, theyve must be doing ok as they still have fat to cut
meanwhile the storm still lose $5 million a year.
lets all hope they can turn that around
penrith will be around 100 years down the track

Obviously you can't.

Let me ask one more time.

| Melbourne Storm are fine
The Broncos spend around $21 million on football operations, i.e expenditure outside of the salary cap.
This can be found out from their financial statements as they are a public company.
It is well known that the Storm spend the same amount, if not more, than the Broncos.
The reason they do this, well if you had the largest media company in the world underwriting your operations, you'd pay overs for everything as well.
If/when News Ltd bail on them, they could cut footballing operations back to around $14 million to break even, and this would put them on a par with the Tigers and Panthers, and ahead of teams like the Sharks and Sea Eagles.
Storm are staying, end of story.

The club whose focus is football, not entertainment venues.

Meanwhile, the fumbleballers played their second game of boggerball at the new GWS ground at Blacktown tonight and a massive 4,122 brave souls turned up with 80% of the tixs giveaways
That's embarrassing, especially when only 20,000 were at the Waratah's match.
