I dont realy like union League is my concern. I just understand the game & my part of the world.
SL has only touched the tip of the iecberg in terms of its potential
True, but there is no easy way to push the game here as the people who pull the strings are not interested, dont care or have no need of our game.
once it gets to the standard of the NRL it will leave union well behind it
We could be ten times better than the NRL but it would not get us any further, I will explainas i said before, newcastle and sale have seen massive crowd falls despite lots of media behind them. union is a dead horse
& as I have pointed out Union gets its money from the International game they need the pro clubs to turn out the players so they keep them going they also have enogh cash to keep Australia going if it fails. The only way union would be in trouble is if the Internationals failed to attract viewers, attendances & sponsorship, remembering that the vast majority of those people dont attend club rugby.
if RL had the same media how big would it be?'"
A lot bigger than it is now but dont assume that because it is given coverage it would thrive, both codes of rugby are alien to most British people a lot who wont watch either & what seems strange to us could not tell the two games apart if they did. League will grow but it will be very slow & may even have setbacks along the way. I am sad to say that at my age I will not live long enough to see it (but I will try)
