Yes over a million so a much larger catchment area for rugby league, Toulouse has links to things like the aerospace industry which surley would bring in alot of money if Toulouse were in the top level of rugby league.
The french national side needs them at the top level, needs more players. needs a wider audience.
What happens if Toulouse continue to struggle and dont make a final, would they not be considered for SL and would this effect French RL or would they be included anyway to achieve the dream of another French club in super league. What will the people in charge decide? one of the biggest cities in France or a town in Northern england which has heard it all before.

Can I have this week's lottery numbers?
Quote: dally messenger "im fairly confident that if they dont win an NL1 title within the next few years, they will be exempted from that condition.
and once in SL they will become a massive club.'"
I agree with the second point, I doubt the first - highly unlikely that the RFL will make such a change, they would need to introduce TO and another Championship side to the SL, which would mean a 16 team comp, 2 teams dropped from SL, or an odd-numbered comp and one team dropped from SL.
Quote: dally messenger "Toulose were very unlucky to miss out last time. indeed their sponsors and financial backing was said to be stronger than when LEs Cats won their SL bid.'"
But not as good as Salford's was this year?
Quote: dally messenger "your posts strike me as being a little insecure that another french club might harm les cats.
it wont, its small minded thinking'"
Nah, when TO make it to SL their place in the Championship will be taken by another club. We will be a top 2 club and TO will be mid-tier. They will continue to be our feeder and their/our players will work their way through the new French club in the Championship.

| Just as a question. When the French league finishes and the UTC players head to Toulouse. Are they signing for Toulouse or are they loan players and go back to UTC when the championship finishes?

| Nothing set in stone, but there has been some talk of lending UTC players to TO. The point would be to take players that look promising to step up to our first team (Dragons) and give them a bit more experience.

if it was down to financial backing this time round, toulose were better than salford, much better.
the only reason they didnt get in was a belief by the rfl it was too soon as les cats were still a new SL club and their finances are a little shaky
again you just sound insecure at what toulose will achieve in SL.

agreed with all of that but widnes need to be in SL as well.
SL cant afford not to have a club like widnes in it.
id personally got for 16 teams if the current lot are doing a good job
though questions over new grounds at salford, cas and wakey could open up a single SL spot.
you might even get a wildcard like fax who are heading in the right direction

Wow. You have a great insight into two privately run clubs there. Quite a talent that.

yeah reading why the RFL admitted one club and not the other is such a hard thing to do.
salford currently struggle to spend the full SC and without a new ground are hardly a SL club.
they were admitted on the promise of a new ground and their potential
toulose had the finances in place already
if you think thats hard to work out, well poor you

You have no clue whatsoever about the finances of either club. Do you? Companies House might point you in the right direction on Salford's current net worth but good luck with the Toulouse numbers. What you have done is come to some general sweeping assumptions based on no emperical and financial data whatsoever. Poor you.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

1030.gif [quote="littlerich":1czuya0c]Widnes will be glad to get away from Leigh. They've been regularly pumped, roasted and left in the alley-way by the lobbygobblers. Talk about being bitched - what a torrid time they've had. They'll be looking for some A&E rest time for the next three years at least.[/quote:1czuya0c]:1030.gif |
