| Didn't Hudgell throw his toys out of the pram when they painted the block on the side blue and say he was having nothing more to do with it?

Blocks A&B will be allocated specifically for away supporters (although they still have the opportunity to use the standing areas and West Stand seats should they choose to purchase online via Rovers website) it is likely that the level of allocated seats in the North Stand will be decided by both Rovers and the visiting club.
Blocks E&F is to be the designated family area.
Hopefully away supporters who have chosen not to visit Craven Park previously will give it a 'go' this year and enjoy their day (result aside of course)

Of the options for an away section it is probably the best. They could have given over the well on one side of the tunnel, but to get a new covered stand with seating and to continue putting away fans in an uncovered standing area might have looked a bit tight.
There have been hints about something maybe happening a the south end, and a small dedicated away stand would be useful. But we know from experience how challenging it can be to get these projects off the ground, so in the meantime...

It wasn't [ipainted[/i blue, the cladding was that colour - in contrast to the various drawings/artists impressions. In fairness that isn't 'our' bit, it is a council-owned education/enterprise facility built at the back of the stand.
There was a bit more to it than that though. There'd been delays caused by administrative errors and the company designing it hadn't done a sports facility before. So there's enough toilets for a normal building of that size, or 2600 people - but as nearly everybody goes for a at half-time at a sporting event, you could do with a few extra for the rush. I think he just wanted to put some distance between the clubs' reputation and the stuff-ups. Difficult to do without taking any of the shine off it, and I'm not sure he entirely managed it, but that's roughly what happened.

| Quote: RhinoNeil "My thoughts also.
Some foul language which is amongst passionate away supporters will take away anything family about that stand.'" No really the stand has 6 blocks.
The away are in the two to the left as you look at it from the pitch. The family stands 2 blocks are on the right.
There is a standard home section of 2 blocks in the middle separating them.

Nothing poor for the away fans. Fantastic view of the game and great facilities.

But they have to sit next to the Rovers fans. That's enough to put anyone off!

| At one of the world cup games at Craven Park I was talking to a Leeds fan and he asked me where they would be put next season I told him the two end blocks he nearly had a heart attack. He claimed that Leeds would bring 3000 to the game (he was very serious) and started to panic about it and thought it was a disgrace.
He also said though the west stand (seating stand running down the pitch) was one of the worst views he has ever watched a game from, which was a very bizarre statement.

It's ironic because in real life I'm never actually serious!

Tbf, if you get one of the restricted view seats at either end of it and have to lean back and forth to see past one of the stanchions, and if it is somebody who has grown up with modern stadia, then it is plausible.

The North stand at Headingley though also has restricted viewing with more stanchion so could have the same experiance if not worse. Also it has some wooden seats if I remember correctly which are not very comfy at all

| I sat in the stand along the side on both occasions when wigan visited HKR last season. Very good view, cracking banter and we even spent nearly 2 hours in the HKR supporters bar along the side after both games during which our group where made to feel most welcome! I think I will stick to here next season.
