| Origin is about where you made your RL debut after 16 in Australia (although its going to be interesting when Perth and Melbourne start producing home grown players through the ranks). It should not be about your heritage or what country you decide to play for at representative honours level.
If SOO was a fair dinkum trial for a Kangaroos spot then fair enough but it is not and hasn't been for many years, if ever.
I see no problem with Uate playing for Fiji and NSW.

| I think State of ORIGIN should be just that... the State you ORIGINATED from
The clue is in the name.
If you are born in NSW you represent NSW.
If you are born in Qld then you represent Qld.
That should be the end of the argument.
If you are born in Vic, WA or any other states... you don't play Origin footy for NSW or Qld.
simple.

| Origin should be about where you grew up.
International eligibilty should be about your roots.
ON a side note Origin should have nothing to do with the Australian team

| its a disgrace how many non aussies play and have played for the kangaroos over the years. the worst case is tony carrol, played for nz in world cup final against aus then 2 years later he's playing for them! if you ask me every aussie success for the last 20 years is tainted

Obviously this is why no one asked you because you are a fool. Unless that was your attempt at humour but if it wasnt...
The All Blacks are filled with Pacific Islanders aswell, so is there success tainted too?
To be honest, i dont know if its jealously and pure racism but im sick of people saying that Australia has players who shouldnt play for Australia. Most of these guys grew up in Australia, why shouldnt they play for us. Australia is very MULTICULTURAL. If a player plays for their country of birth then Australia and you dont like it then your problem is with the rules of international rules and not Australia. When you think about it though, people call for a player to pick one country and stick with them well if that was the case then in last years World Cup Samoa, Tonga etc wouldnt have half as good of sides they had.
On the Toyota Cup, yes it is the under 20's comp and yes it is filled with 40% of players with Pacific Islander decent but some of those boys would call themselves Australian, as they live and love this country. Plus Pacific Islanders are known to develop physically very early in their lives. Some of the boys who played for Australia yesterday agaisnt PNG are probably 20 kilos heavier than they were when they were under 20. Lockyer for example.

| I absolutley agree with the amount of players the SSI can field, there is some exceptional tallent out there that deseve to be seen playing international RL.
For the game to expand, some rules need to be put in place and those at the head of the game need to stick by there guns
It seems to make obvious sense to every one but the aussies and the kiwis, just like in football, you should play for the international team where you were born,i appreciate that some of these guys have spent 10 plus years playing RL away from there places of birth, so if you've lived some where for X years or have dad and the opportunity to pick one of two nations fine but once you've played for the kiwis or the tongans or the australians there should be no opportunity to change
Its obvious to every one this is a rule that needs sorting
Its also great to see matteo standing by his herritige and playing for the Tongans, I have no doubt that he would be in the Kiwi side this year otherwise
