| Cheers everyone. Its the camera thing thats bothering me the most. I know I'll have to buy water etc at inflated prices. But Hubby has a digital SLR camera which he can change lenses on, seems a real pity if he can't use it!

I can't wait to see the new Wembley and I will have my little boy with me so my camera and bottles of pop for him will be with me regardless!'"
I`ve had that as well, or at least my wife has. Being forced to drink, or give up, a can of pop at the gate (because it`s `dangerous` and you `might throw it`) only to find cans of pop on open sale inside is infuriating to say the least.

| i had no problems taking my camera into wembley last season, not as flash as one mentioned in an above post, but still had a 10x optic zoom, so you should be ok, look for the stewards who don't speak english and go in past them!!

| Cameras have always been banned from sports grounds, yet at some international soccer matches there is a constant lightshow of flashlights (that have no effect on the finished photo). So long as you don't appear to be taking for professional purposes there should be no problem. I've regularly taken basic digital cameras to Cup Finals and Grand Finals.

| Compact cameras and the Fuji type "hybrid camereas" are OK. Try taking in an SLR camera with a telescopic lens you,ve probably got a 50-50 chance of either been pulled up at the check gate or by stewards in the ground.
If I was you I would take one of those wide range zoom compacts, most of them fit in the pocket.

If it's the former then I find taking a couple of spare tops, collected from empty bottles at home, can come in more than useful.'"
Wembley last year my wife had the bottle top taken off her bottle of water. She had phoned the stadium the week before to check if she could take the water in (needed it for medication) and they said yes.
This year we'll be following Lord Percy's advice.

| For the league cup final I inadvertently sneaked in three cans of cider there was no searching on the doors, in fact the stewards were just busy talking to one another and could not be bothered with the fans arriving. I also took in an SLR, in fact it was slung over my shoulder and nothing happened, at one point i even asked a steward to bend down so could take pictures of the presentation, because being on the other side of the ground I could not clearly see the presentation. If any people are on the third tier on the presentation side don't bother with a camera you can't see the pres from there. Wembley must break every rule in the book when it comes to stadium safety, most stewards are friends of friends with no training and no idea of safety procedures, any other ground in the country would be shut, plus the toilets still overflow.

| The ridiculous thing about this (the camera issue) is that many modern compact or bridge cameras (ie the ones with a permanently fixed lens) have far more 'reach' than all but the very most expensive interchangable SLR lenses.

| Digital SLR cameras havent got a chance of getting in Wembley. They regard them as professional photographic eqpt.
Compact digital camers are ok. I took mine last year and no one batted an eye lid about me taking pics.
Liquids and any food gets confiscated on entry.
Handbags and any type of bag gets searched.

Best advice is leave it at home and enjoy the game, if it says no cameras with interchangeable lenses then that covers yours.

There's been a lot of leniancy with camera's in the past 4/5 years due to mobile phones having camera's built into them.
Everyone one as a mobile and the last 2 years i've been to wembley i've seen people with digital camera's taking photo's in the ground, i've done it myself. So i cant see any problem taking a long lensed camera in. Just put it at the bottom of your bag with something on top of it. Good luck.

It states on the Wembley Website that you cannot take in a camera that has interchangeable lenses. But if you only took one lens with you would you be able to take the camera in?
Also, do they make you take everything out of your bags? My handbag is like an Aladdins cave with everything a girl might need!
Any of you out there who have been in recent times and can advise? Cardiff made you take your water bottles out but didnt have problems with cameras and back packs.'"
I can tell you're a Warrington fan. BTW, Wembley is a REALLY REALLY BIG stadium, you wont believe it!

Plenty of the lads off the photography thread have managed to get SLR`s I believe -the biggest challenge is not getting it damaged amid all the crowd excitement .
