there is not one player i can think of in this years SL thats could do the same as Ellis Morley and Carney
its competative...sure
its exciting......yes
its quality .....er no not from the english players
ffs keith senior is still our best centre
we dont have a stand off in the country
english second rows and loose forwards i think not
not even hookers now cunninghams past his best,
maybe maybe at a pinch james roby, leon price??cant think of any others!

| I also think Brough could if he could keep hes discipline. He has everything size, speed, defence good kicking game and dictates the game. I think Burgess and Peacock could too but i agree our backs are so far behind the Aussies its unreal

Don't agree with this.

This, however, I think is pretty much spot on.

Unfortunately I don't think it is, and if it is it isn't translating to the International side, the closest we have been to Australia in recent years is 2003 and 2004 but we had an ageing squad, last year was quite frankly embarrassing!
And if the SL is improving and bringing new players through the problem is the NRL is also improving and bringing many more youngsters through.
having said that I do hope that England on their own soild can put in a much improved performance than last year, well it cant get any worse to be fair!

And in 2003 England got swept in that series against probably the worst Australian team and the worst coach Australian team of all time.

As Ive said before I'm not saying we were good, just better than the last few years, at least we were very competitive across a whole series against a side in green and gold, something which we haven't been for a few years.

| I tend to think these days Englands competitive games are more of a fluke than anything else.
I think the thrashing are the norm.
NOW....today. I'm looking at all these supposed young players, young stars and next big things that are supposed to be coming into the England side...and it scares me.
I mean, these kids are so far off the pace of players like Folau, Jennings, Inglis and co. Its like reserve grade footballers against world class athletes, I dont think its even fair.
I really think that by the 2013 World Cup England will but 5th or 6th in the world.
Australia is ok, New Zealand is going good, Samoa and Tonga are pumping out great players all the time.....Fiji and are just good......its very reasonable to suggest that England are about to fall right off the radar.

I just hope that players Like Hayne and Jennings for the sake of the comp play for the same teams as they did in 2008, although it is a fair way off and I'm sure there will be other players as good as those playing for the like of samoa and fiji, those teams IMO were the success of the last world cup, it was a joy to watch teams play with so much passion for their chosen country, I would also put Ireland up there with them as they were also a supprise in the comp, they all put England and France for that matter to shame.

| McGuire is ****ed!
As for Hayne and Jennings, they will play for Australia. Both born and raised here. They only playewd for other countries because Australia didnt select them.
That loophole BS needs to end.
