I wasn't asking for your permission. I just find it daft when people churn out the same old "I didn't notice the crowd, I was too busy concentrating on the game" line, when it is quite easy to notice the crowd at some point whilst concentrating on the game.
And there are plenty of breaks in play for me to be able to look around the stadium. Not to mention being able to look around before it actually started!
So be as patronising as you like, but your the one that wants to avoid talking about the crowd on a thread about... the crowd! |

Press boxes weren't full and god knows how many Club Wembley seast were empty.
Where did I say I didn't notice the crowd?
What I actually said was that I paid more attention to the game than the crowd. Please don't tell me you did the opposite. |

I think it's a good crowd considering the sporadic "stop start" nature of the competition - spread over months and months of the RL calendar and for a competition that's supposed to be dying on it's ass. The BARB figures will also be interesting compared to previous years - there was quite a bit of TV advertising for this final last week.

This is nonsense. As much criticism as these get these are tickets that we wouldn't have sold otherwise. Without Club Wembley this crowd would have been nearer 70,000. |

You have seriously got to be kidding. I'm no fan of the Wire, but they must have had well over 30k fans there and the noise they made was phenomenal. I've been to a lot of CC finals going back to the 1970s and the Warrington support equalled or bettered anything that (say) Saints, Bradford or Leeds ever mustered.
The crowd was higher than any CC final away from Wembley, higher than quite a few of those in the 1990s (eg Saints/Bradford in 1996, Sheffield/Wigan in 1998, Wigan/Saints in 1991 plus others.) |
