Quote The Avenger="The Avenger"Once they started their action against UAERL and made statements about being the only sanctioned body in the UAE which Governed 'Rugby' of all denominations, the IRB could and should have stepped in to set one of their members straight, should they not?'"
You assume the IRB were aware of what was going on in UAE. Given only a freelance journalist in Australia felt the story worth covering, it's safe to assume that the IRB were unaare that there was some score settling of a local nature going on.
Quote The Avenger="The Avenger"Why should Nissan be contacted? It's none of the UAERUs business, they're making a baseless claim of fraud or 'Passing Off'! Will they be contacting other sponsors from Netball, football etc as well?'"
Baseless? Are you aware that the owners of the Nissan Franchise that were paying for naming rights knew 100% that they were sponsoring league and not under the impression that they were sponsoring Rugby? It would seem a very strange course of action for the UAERF to press these charges that will have to be seen by a court of the land if they were baseless.
Quote The Avenger="The Avenger"The only organisation which is out of order here is the UAERU! They have made false claims about Governing sports for which they have zero authority!'"
I don't disagree about the claims of governance, but as for organisations being out of order, the entire RL set up in the UAE was in fact illegal, not registered and being administered by an illegal alien/immigrant. Whilst you can take offence at the apparent lack of morals by the Union lot, they aren't the ones breaking the laws of the UAE........the bloke out on bail did that....a number of ways it would seem.
