I Have met Carlos on a couple of occaisions and some of the other officials and the ' band ' [ they were generous enough to play ' God save our Queen ' for me on our first visit in 2009
However I disagree with their inclusion in the Championship

Why are they playing in it ? , is it to prepare for SL ? , if so then we should be told that is the reason , but personally I'd rather they be put straight in

You have stated they are not going to be fielding a strong team this coming season because ' they dont have to because they cannot be relegated ' , to me that is wrong , having clubs playing to different rules makes a mockery of the competition , in 2009 Toulouse finished in the bottom two but were excempt from going down , Why should that be the case ?

The cost of having them in the Championship must be around £ 250,000 per season , that money could be spent much better with the clubs struggling to survive

The lack of any away support makes most of the games against them lacklustre and without atmosphere

Yes a few hard core british fans get the chance of a boozy weekend , but that alone is not worth the cost , in fact quite possibly some british clubs miss out on fans travelling because of the trip to Toulouse

I dont think a part time sport is rich enough to have a european part to it , yes the odd cup game , but not in the league

The relegation exception also could and does IMO affect the eventual league standings at the end of the season , with the Championship having 11 teams and a top 6 play off with relegation to the bottom 2 virtually every club has something to play for right up to the last game , Toulouse however once they are not going to make the top 6 tend to drop off the pace which could cause the final standings to be unfaily altered

All just my opinion of course , personally I'd be happy to see them go into SL as soon as possible [ as long as they are not replaced by another club outside Britain

I see this as fundamentaly wrong in a sporting competition

So you see no actual positive future for these clubs , clubs like mine , and you wonder why I seem a little ' tetchy ' about it ?

In what way does SKY keep clubs like mine ' alive ' ?

thanks for ALL your comments - with great respect, believe it or not,I do actually agree with many of your points and I would be 'tetchy' also but I am a passionate fan,like yourself obviously.I have no idea which team you actually support tho' I assume it's a Championship side ?

do you honestly believe £250,000,your quoted figure will save the M62 corridor game ? if the majority of fans don't want the french involved then kick up enough stink,vote with your feet and get them kicked out,distribute the dosh between the tens of clubs up north and find another scapegoat when you realise the couple of grand you will have received hasn't made much of a difference to your club.

SKY and IMO the Beeb especially can promote the game just as it trid to in the 70s & 80s but we have to face the facts that at the end of the day RL IS a minority sport and always will be - all people like us can do is support our respective clubs (for me Doncaster ,albeit long-distance with financial support) to keep them in existence and hope that the ruling parties of our clubs run them as efficiently as possible.
