| Quote Durham Giant="Durham Giant"I have just checked that link and it is quite shocking.
I think the RFL should come down hard on all the teams involved and deduct 20 points from every team involved. AS there was not one mention of Huddersfield fans that should put us top of the table for at least another 5 rounds !!!!!'"
Seriously, most of it's gossip and quotes from sites like this.
Strikes me as quite a good record forcrowd control for a sport that attracts tens of thousands and has a lot of derbies. I swear some people just loved to be "shocked".

| Quote Willzay="Willzay"As a temporary measure I'd support an alcohol ban and even security searches as each fan enters the ground for flares/smoke bombs etc'"
Which would be an overreaction of epic proportions.
Personally, I couldn't care less about having access to alcohol during a game and I struggle to understand those for whom it seems an essential requirement at any public event; but I really don't like the casual erosion of individual freedoms as a knee-jerk response to the actions of a few idiots.
Steward games more effectively - eject idiots at the first signs of idiocy; and if all else fails, get Junior Sau to have a word.

But we've had so many incidents over the past few years that surely the time has come for some drastic measures - if only a temporary basis to see if things will die down. Threatening life bans won't do much good when people rarely own up or identify those involved if they know them.

| Only Bradford fans would suggest we have points taken off us.
Its like Salford are the only ones to cause trouble. Does anyone remember the Widnes incident a few years ago in the challenge cup semi final. They ran on the pitch, kicking in sponsorship boards, beating up the mascot and starting fights with Castleford fans. They got fined 20,000
The Club should just get a big fine and hopefully get the people who caused this and move on.
B.T.W Widnes got Club of the year as well so fingers cross it will happen for Salford HAHAHA

| The Daily Mail article is rather misleading.
Salford dont get 800 fans attending home games, how would they manage take 800 fans to a place like Huddersfield???

| EVERY SL club has some idiots amongst its supporters and Salford are no exception.
The key is to find the culprits and fine them and try to ban them.
Unfortunately, the reality of banning supporters is extremely difficult especially as a "nationwide" ban which is
impossible to police.
Regarding the alcohol thing, it's a crying shame that a small minority cant control themselves after a few pints
but, this is a society problem and not exclusive to RL.
Not selling drink in the ground would possibly be a good thing but, it punishes the majority because of the actions
of a few idiots. Plus, beer sales are a major income stream for most clubs so, this becomes a lose/lose situation.
A fine and warning about future conduct will be the outcome.

| I have just a report from the Batley v Dewsbury game, which sounded much worse than what I witnessed at Huddersfield. Apparently both Batley and Dewsbury fans were fighting amongst themselves in the stands during the game? Odd how this doesn't warrant national media attention, when it sounds like an actual punch was thrown unlike at the Salford v Huddersfield game.

Weird how professional sportsmen holding their own fans to the ground under the implicit threat of ultraviolence in the proximity of professional photographers somehow generates more column inches than Dewsbury fans arguing amongst themselves in a flat-roofed pub . I would imagine it's a conspiracy against Salford.

Don't agree just get rid of the people who caused it why punish the rest of us with fines and point deductions. Moaning Bradford fans cost my club a fortune because a tiny group of peed up youth apparantly sang some mildly racist songs. I'm not defending and why should I, frankly I don't care it wasn't my fault and it wasn't WTRLFC's fault - only in hindsight can we know these people are s. Anyway in the scheme of the things compared to the racist/sectarian genocide being comitted by ISIS, Russia and NATO in the middle east it's nothing. I'm sick of people who just love being offended by almost anything and who seem to want to suffer the abuse by proxy.
So as ever the lowest common denominator wins every time. I don't know how satisfied our over sensitive Bradfordites were at the resultant fine but I can assure you it didn't cost the perpatrators a penny nor I suspect do they care or feel any remorse. It did cost our Chairman Michael Carter who paid some of the bill and it probably cost a yongster the chance to join the first team to make up the rest.
So everyones a winner and the ethnic minorities of Bradford can sleep easy in their beds knowing the a visit to BV will be a joy for them from now on, or at least it would be if they ever went in the first place or where actually bothered in any way by what happened or in fact are even aware of what happened.
Feel free to be outraged.
