Johnson did not have his best game. But Townsend's continual 5th tackle kicking to the invulnerable Lachlan Maranta was so dumb it surely is grounds for sacking.

Sam Tomkins was one of the best players for the Warriors. He had some blemishes: he was badly beaten by Ben Hunt, but so were others; also he eventually tackled Dale Copley but a second too late to stop his match winning try.

One the other hand Tomkins always looked dangerous with the ball and scored a very good opportunistic try in the first half. He is now a key player, along with Johnson, Matulino, and Hurrell (whose injury may well have cost the Warriors the game)

He'll be doing half the work for more money, be daft not to. On the downside he is leaving behind life in one of the best cities in the world, big crowds, decent stadiums, celebrity status and partying with Hollywood stars. Not to mention the athletic challenge of playing in the worlds top rugby competition.

Bless.......he'll be an hour from London which craps all over Sydney, if he plays for England he'll be watched by more people in the 5 games in spring than see him all year in the NRL to a TV audience of 40,000,000 in England alone and he will become an RFU marketing asset so will be out and about with the glitterati.........oh, he'll also see what a genuine World Cup looks like where the Italians actually come from Italy, the Irish from Ireland etc..........

BBC claim 4.5 million average across all 15 6 Nations games.......I suspect that if I'd posted 67.5 million you'd have given yourself a hernia.....and I never claimed 40 million at the same time.
As for being funny.......Wales v someone last year in a friendly getting a bigger tv audience than the RLWC semi final on the bbc was quite humorous if that sort of thing tickles you......god knows why it would though?

Why do people add TV audiences together to make totals? 4.5 million (or whatever) per game probably translates as 95% of the same people each time. Same happens with the Olympics, football World Cup etc.

..it's the norm when announcing "collated" figures. I believe the exact press statement from the BBC surrounding the 6 Nations was released at around the same time that RBS forked out stupid money to continue the sponsorship.....it really is all smoke and mirrors and they (the dark side) are pretty good at it. To be fair, Knock Down Nigel seems to be learning these dark arts if the releases that came out during the RLWC are anything to go by! There was one in particular that attempted to crow about a better TV audience then England Union.....even though the tarquins were actually on Pay TV and the RL on BBC
