| Quote: JEAN CAPDOUZE "Congratulations to Halifax on their astounding victory over the apparent pretenders, Hull KR.
Right now it appears that London Broncos has the best chance of the Championship clubs for promotion to Super League.
Toulouse management will learn, I hope, that there must be more strength in depth, to take account of injuries. Cover for injuries in the spine is most necessary if a team is to be consistently good. If such recruitment is undertaken then there is no reason why Toulouse won't be in the Middle 8s in 2018.'"
Probably the most sensible post I've ever seen you make

| It's about how many points you win. Toulouse didn't win enough games, and with Toronto joining the party next season, Toulouse likely enough won't next year either. Not good enough, and without significant financial input never will be. Fax beat HKR (well) by sheer endeavour, grit and determination today.
The only way TO13 will make SL is via some bizarre RFL backdoor shenanigans.
Have you moved? Are you now a Londoner? Why are you touting the Broncos now (as a Frenchie)?

Toulouse at near full strength has beaten both Hull KR twice and Featherstone twice this season. When plagued by extensive injuries Toulouse has lost to weaker teams. If Toulouse do strengthen their spine depth for next season they will be a good chance of making the Middle 8s and perhaps even going further, as Toronto surely will.
I am touting London because they have been playing very well lately, better than the other three Championship clubs they will compete with in the coming weeks. It doesn't mean that they will beat Widnes and Leigh but they do have a chance, and if they do beat either that should put them in the MPG.

Did HULL Kingston rovers not beat London twice and the second time A right Tonkin so I think you might be wrong on that score

How on Earth can you say that based on one season in the Championship, in which they spent a significant part of it in the top two? They were incredibly close with zero experience of the current structure. I don't think they'll need significant investment at all. It would help, but if the likes of Featherstone and Halifax (and Batley and Sheffield previously) can do it on a small budget, I don't see why Toulouse can't.
I think now that people have seen how competitive they are, they will be in a great position to make a huge push for SL next year. With a strengthened Toulouse, Toronto, Hull KR/other SL side, there's going to be a huge battle at the top of the Championship next year.

| London do have a strong side, but you've constantly bemoaned the TO13 injuries this season. Fax probably had close to their best side out today, albeit without our best forward (out for the rest of the season).
IF is a big 2-letter word, but Fax beat a better (on paper) HKR side today through pure desire, effort and ability to turn that into points.
Let's ask, what club do you support? My heart and soul is with Halifax RLFC. I couldn't turn to any other club, and if they disappeared then I'd stop following RL. Blue and white runs through my bones.
What's your team?

"Significant part of in it the top two", but finished fifth...

| If Toulouse strengthen their squad they should be in the top 4 of the Championship in 2018, and a chance of promotion to Super League in 2019.

| unfortunately being in the top 4 of the championship isn't good enough. you need to be head and shoulders above the rest in the championship and then go on to beat 2 of the super league teams in the middle 8's to avoid being in the sudden death £m game

If Toulouse could strengthen their current squad with cover in the spine, plus a couple of Antipodean forwards, then they could beat at least two Super League teams, perhaps be roughly equal to Toronto, and thereby make it into Super League -- via the £1m game or not.

Indeed.
Even KR may struggle this time around, although, after their mis fortune last season they will be extremely well motivated.
London may take a SL scalp, which would put the cat well among the pigeons but, it could well be, as you were, with Leigh and Widness retaining their SL status.
Next season will be tougher still with Toronto likely to be challenging at the top end of the Championship and assuming there is no change to the current system, the middle 8's will be the toughest yet.
