What has Mick made up?

He said Hock had been kicked out of the squad and later on that day this was made public. He said McIllorum, Hardaker and Graham had all been dropped for the Australia game and low and behold, none were in the squad when it was announced 2 days later. Then he says on Sunday that hardaker has been dropped from the squad for further breaches of the rules. Ok, strictly speaking, he "left of his own accord" but if you seriously believe that this wasnt to save face for both Hardaker and the England set up, you are very naive.

So again, tell me what Mick Gledhill has made up.

At first he said that, but then said it was only Hock. This was before the press release too.

He hasn't made up anything either about Hardaker. Yes, he was the one that brought it up in the media room but come on, as has been shown by Leeds fine of Zak, something has happened. Leeds don't just fine a player for the sake of it.

My point was McNamara reacted to somebody making it up, specifically Mick Gledhill.

I was at Thorpe Park Spa last week talking to the players, and Sean O'Loughlin specifically responded with "rubbish made up by that d1ck head Mick Gledhill"

I think someone mentioned it earlier but a team manager, to take the media responsibilities and the administration away from McNamara, would have been a good idea. That way the story could have been released correctly and a person with interest but not emotionally attached could have handled it a damn sight better.

I don't think I have ever seen one player let alone two get sent home in such a way from international duty, let alone a world cup. I know a Scotland footballer (Willy Johnstone I think) got sent home from Argentina in 78 but I am at a loss to name others.

Something has happened, that goes against the Leeds code of conduct, but not enough to warrant disciplinary from England. Not to Micks version though.

Maybe it did warrant disciplinary but Hardaker was given the chance to jump before he was pushed? Maybe the England management setup actually tried some damage limitation by offering him this way out and as the truth became apparent it blew up in their faces?

It looks a damn site better having personal reasons as a headline rather than "another player is booted out"

Maybe they did try to box clever and the fine undid their attempt at damage limitation.
