Well I'm not trying to gain respect from you so don't care on that front. What exactly are we trying to smokescreen ? From what I can see nobody has said it was a great attendance and nobody has denied it wasn't a poor attendance.
If it makesyou feel better. It was a poor attendance like every play off game will be through to the grand final. Now the Hull fans who have posted on here have tried to offer explanations and give different views on why it was poorly attended. You on the other hand seem to be on some kind of mission to get people to agree with you on an obvious point.
However one game does not formulate how well Hull are supported. Wouldn't surprise me if we take 2000+ away next week, not many will take that many on the road in the play offs.

There not included.

| Quote: Mr. Zucchini Head "You are right.
As I said in my post there will be people who genuinely can't afford/can't justify spending money to go watch the rugby. But the majority of fans who stayed away did so because they are sulking about what they perceive to be another bad season.
To put it into perspective the last playoff game we were in when there was a genuine feel good factor around the club was against Bradford in 2006. The attendance that night was 16000, and as I remember it Hull fair was on at the same time, not only competing with the rugby but also making travelling more difficult. Lets say 2000 were from Bradford. That means 9000 Hull fans who went to that game can't afford to go 7 years later. B0ll0ck5.'"
The sad thing about it is this Hull team is actually pretty good despite a large amount of the fans throwing a sulk.
The season hasn't lived up to expectations but it looks to me only short of a decent half back combination. Defensively they're excellent, the threequarters are among the best in the league.
Sad to say now but Rangi Chase would've been the ideal signing for Hull.

You're trying to smokescreen the fact that 6-8k regular fans didn't go to the game last nigh (because they were sulking) by pretending it was a financial decision.
BS.

| Surprisingly poor crowd. Thought it actually was a decent game.
A trip to Hudds on a Thursday night might dampen travelling numbers, but a win is quite possible.
All those Hull fans paid full price, which was minimum £18. The Hudds crowd included 5,000 @£10 so in terms of revenue probably less than £5k between the two.
Just in case any Hudds fans have chipped in with criticism.

So lets get one thing straight. 1500 pre-payed seats are not counted on your attendance every home match? Sorry to burst your bubble, but they DO!! Remember when it all came about when your pictures were taken down over the picture gate scandal. A lot of things came out in the wash back then, even the fact that premier club tickets counted on your attendance whether there used or not.

They must employ somebody to walk through the turnstyles 1500 times a game then. Either all the 1500 turn up to every game or somebody walks through the turnstyle 1500 times. Either way I don't get why your that bothered by it, oh yeah Rovers fan.

| There are a large number of reasons why this game (as well as recent play off games) have been poorly attended. Some to do with the club, some to do with the game.
But this has to be the biggest one:
The Top-8 format hasn't worked. Week one just doesn't mean enough. The games between 5-8 are usually average games. The games between 1-4 mean little. Top 5 was perfect. Top 6 stretched it a little. Top 8 has ruined it. Fans just aren't buying the importance of the early play off games and it's shown at most play-off games since 2009 (not just last night).
7,232 watched Wigan v Catalans in the first round of last year's play-offs (Wigan were top of the league with 14.5k home average).
Season before, 6,790 watched the same game in the second round (Wigan were CC winners with an average just below 15k).
7,323 watched Wire v Hull in the second round last year (Wire were CC winners with an average home gate of 10.5k, Hull took about 1.5k fans).
Were they all moaning about Wembley losses or poor league seasons?
Other than Catalans vs Leeds, every play off gate last season was below average. Many significantly.
The Top 8 play-offs have been poor. They have given fuel for rivals for the game or the individual clubs to add to the fire.
The problem with last night's gate wasn't the Hull fans. Just like last season's wasn't the Wigan fans or Wire fans. It's because the meaning of the play off games has been significantly diluted and the fans aren't buying it anymore.
That's far more significant than a few p*ssed off Hull fans and poor weather. Had Hull been going well and the weather been fair, there'd maybe have been a couple of hundred more at best.

| I watched the news last night I missed the story in which 10, 000 people were made redundant last week in the Hull area, checked the BBC website too and nothing. I checked the weather for the force 9 gales coming in off the sea...nothing.
The truth is the club that boasts constantly about taking the most fans to away games and bleats constantly about having the greatest fans in the world had the illusion broke for all to see and now their egos can't take it.
The fact is, you're fans are not as great as you think they are, man up and just accept it rather than giving a million and one BS stories.

You do realise that people who are in work are sometimes unable to afford things, right?
