What i meant was looking at the hudds squad, it isnt filled with players who are 18/19/20/21/22, they just dont have that many players at 32/33/34/35 and i wouldnt describe a team of players between 24 and 31 as a young side.

How are Hudds an underdog side? They've been there or thereabouts for several years now.
And how is a team full of kids, many of whom have never played super league, a champion side?

Again not counting the youngsters in the full time squad, of which Giants have a fair few including a 16yo who made his SL debut this yearHudds squad (Leeds equivalent)
Min age18)
Number of players 22 and under5 ( 5)
Mean age25.5 (26.5)
Median age25 ( 25)
Mode age25 ( 25)
Number of players aged 32+: 1 (5)
Max age: 32 (35)
Huddersfield have just as many 'young' players as defined by you as Leeds, with another 5 or 6 with SL experience that I didn't include because they have only played a few games (though quite a few are playing this Saturday. Their ages are: 22, 19, 19, 20, 20, 18, 16 (17th birthday tomorrow, happy birthday Kruise!).
Facts. For when you actually want to make a well founded conclusion.

| Aaaanyway, back on topic. For me, Brough, Lunt, and JP all have to be up there. (I know, Giants fan in nominating 2 Hudds players shocker). It sounds like Higham is more than worthy of a shout too, but I just haven't seen enough Wire games this year to form an opinion.

I'm not saying you did, I'm giving you facts that Huddersfield are by and large a pretty young squad (12/28 or 43% 22 and under). To argue otherwise is frankly bizarre. I only compare them to Leeds because that was the other team mentioned earlier in the thread.

| last week hudds had only 1 player under 22 in their squad, only 3 under 25. both weeks before that only 1 under 22 in their squad. The week before that they had a whole 2 players under 22 in their squad and again the week before that and the week before that. In the week prior they had only 1. The week before that at Les Catalans they had 0. The week prior back to 1. Prior to that they had 3 (though one of them was a loan from Warrington).
In fact that seems to be the most players who arent yet 23 now, that Hudds have fielded all season.
Last night Leeds fielded 4. Singleton, Sutcliffe, Watkins and Hardaker, as did Wigan: Tomkins, Taylor, Crosby, and Thornley. Neither are young sides.
11 of Leeds 27 have been aged under 22. Leeds are not a young side.
Facts. For when you actually want to make a well founded conclusion.

I'd actually disagree and say Leeds are a relatively young squad, with the obvious exceptions, and I think what you've posted shows that. I'd also say Wigan are also. I guess we just have different definitions of 'young' sides.
Agree to disagree I guess. What I will say is that all three should be applauded for the British and young (ish if that's better ) sides at the top of SL.

Brough used a platform laid by the pack in front of him. He hasn't led the team.
Underdogs? Young? Aren't all squad sizes the same?
How many players have Hudds had missing all year? The side picked for the Bulls game is full of fringe players who have not played until now.
Hull fan goes for Brough shocker.

Did you back them to win the LLS, Did anyone. Most pundits had them finishing 6 or 7. Where were Leeds predicted to finish with all their Internationals. Did you expect them to finish the season well or were you waiting for them to collapse like everyone else said they would.
Quote: BiffasBoys "How many players have Hudds had missing all year?'"
Fielden and Luke O'Donnell our two marquee signings played 7 games between them. Chan in the second row missed 2 thirds of the season ( saying that we have had a relatively settled squad)

Some of them have played Leeming and Blackmore etc.

Possibly because he thinks it is the right decision ?

Brough has been given time & space to work by a go forward pack. Lunt has been instrumental in feeding Brough & Robinson with the ball to work from.
Fielder a marque signing? A you having a laugh? Squad player, nothing more.
O'Donnell a loss & I've already mentioned Chan.
Compare that to the number of Ames missed by first 17 at Leeds. Massive difference in down time. McGuire, Sinfield, JJB, Bailey etc etc.
Look at the side Leeds put out at Galpharm in June.
Hudds have had a great season, no doubt, but to suggest Brough has performed a similar feat as Peacock has is bordering on risible.

| Peacock has been outstanding in every game i have seen him play and would get my vote... he has more carries and meters than any other player in the league.
Brough has stunk the place out 3 times in 3 defeats at the hands of warrington this season... for that reason its Peackock for me.

| I think we need to remember its now voted for by the players themselves, so its asmuch as a popularity contest than anything else! is Brough a popular figure with the players?

That could be a bit of a disservice, there is a guy at my place who is a proper tool and I can’t stand him but he is good at his job and I recognise that… maybe the players will vote purely on what happens on the field?
For what it’s worth, my vote this year would be Peacock, an absolutely fantastic prop who has just been announced in the BBC team for the World Cup when I would have him in the England team in an instant
