Quote: Sheldon "There's alot of games that have the same or similar level's of aggression but don't have the same level of "biff" nor "biff" that is celebrated so much by our players, media and fans.

When you start accepting "biff" on the field you accept in everyday life. You tell the younger players and younger fans that this is how adults behave.

Also you pander to other people to grow your game, to make it acceptable to parents to allow their children to play and watch the game. We can't just allow the bogan's of Australia to grow the game.

Anyway i'm clearly out of touch in modern day society, thankfully.'"

I am with you Sheldon.
The game has plenty of aggression, it does not need cheap shots or thuggery.

If you think the modern game is too rough I'm guessing you didn't follow it during the 40's to the 80's? There is no evidence a bit of biff on the RL field causes aggression in society ffs! Given how soft soccer is, going by your theory the crowds should be hugging and loving each other at football games.

Times are changing JB, the NRL has recognised this. You haven't.

If you don't think children follow and copy what they see on the field you're a bigger fool than I had you down as.

Now go and copy and paste some of the posts from LU for me to read.

You need to ask players opinions. It is them that put their bodies on the line. Just because you say you are right it doesn't make it so does it? And just because people disagree with you, doesn't mean you have to lock the thread as you previously did does it?

I like a bit of biff and a lot of games are remembered for it. Take Hull KR v Queensland in 84, If he hadn't hit the Queensland number 9 then the number 9 would have have been giving cheap digs at the Hull KR players all game. Somebody needed to sort it out as the ref wasn't. One good punch sorted it out and the game was allowed to play on without the cheap digs.

No you don't need to ask the players, they don't know what's good for them. In the same way we don't give motor bikers the choice of wearing a helmet.

I'm not interested in days gone by. The NRL have acknowledged a problem in the game and are moving quick and hopefully efficiently to rectify it.

Do you want proffessional reports saying that children are influenced in their actions from what they learn from adults? Really?

I've been told on this thread if I don't like it I should follow a different game, well it would seem the NRL agree with me. So I'm following the right game. Maybe some others should follow different games, like mma?

Ok show me where the NRL have said its a problem. I really do think you have forgotten the foundations on which this sport was built upon. I would rather my children see grown ups knock 10 bells of s*** out of each other on a Rugby pitch and it be all over and hands shaken at full time, then them knocking 10 bells of s*** out of someone in the street. You don't see Rugby players kicking people in the head whilst having a dust up on the field of play do you?

I tend to agree with others that you should really follow a different sport if you want a sport where aggression is ruled out.

Maybe you should lock the thread again to stop people disagreeing with you.

Where what's a problem, Fighting? Did you miss then origin series?

Where did I say I didn't want to see aggression?

I'd rather watch a sport and be in a society were nobody gets 10 bells of knocked out of them, if you mean by fighting.

Honestly, have you ever played a game of RL (or even kissed a girl) ??? Or have you spent your entire life behind a computer screen masturbiting into a tube sock ???

The first thing I would do, rather than concentrating my efforts on the guy on the floor, is to take out that cowardly f@*&ing fat b!"£ard about to kick the bloke while hes down, whether he was on my team or not. Im all for biff, thats just cowardly. The thing is, if it was a 1 on 1, he'd absolutely cack himself.

Are people actually advocating that all-in brawls should be allowed in the game?

Jesus - and people wonder why RL is perceived as a sport played largely by and for brainless thugs.

Yes, I'm sure that some people do perceive it like that.
