| The fact Toronto home matches kick off at 12:30pm or 2:30pm means the time difference will be negligible as those times in the UK are 5:30pm or 7:30pm

I post a somewhat light-hearted rebuttal, given that most of the away players that I've seen on sm and met in the beer garden all seem to be enjoying themselves.
You then recommend that I shut it because ... you aren't prepared to consider that Paul Anderson's mate might just confirming your own preset prejudices?'"
Toronto should be playing in a Canadian League, because Toronto is in Canada.
Is that straight forward enough for you ? But the RFL are that desperate to add something NEW to our game, we have Toronto and 2 French clubs in the RFL.
Rumour has it, Ralph Rimmer is targeting that wonderful planet Pluto next for a new team to join our league. But with their currency being a 'plip-plop' it could cause a few problems.

In fairness, the 2 French sides (Catalan and Toulouse) seem to fit in pretty well and offer a great weekend away , plus, a 2 hour flight doesn't disrupt anyone's schedules but, an 8 hour flight plus jet lag in one or other direction will have an impact, albeit for a relatively small amount of time.
The main issue is that there is nothing underneath Toronto in the way of an amateur game, junior RL etc. They have a match day 17 which is made up 100% of imported players. I know they have a few "locals" in the squad but, they missed the boat with these players, who may have had half a chance of competing in league 1 but, haven't a hope in hell of competing in SL.

I was surprised myself that it wasn't higher, albeit there were sections of the stand closed (saves costs on stewards) which made the sections in use look pretty full. No way 3,000 though. LOL, I've said something similar about another club, but I was one of the 1774 yesterday.
Decent contingent supporting TWP, and although very disappointed with Fax's attacking display (TWP had clearly done their homework, and Fax didn't have a plan B), the result was a fair one.
TWP will need to step up a couple of gears from that though if they're going to be promoted.

When you cross multiple sectors quickly your body clock is altered causing you to be 'off peak', possibly affecting your sleep, diminished mental performance, etc. The impact varies between individuals. Recommended one day per sector crossed to achieve 100% recovery.
There are suggestions for reducing the impact such as timing of meals, managed diet (IIRC alcohol is a definite no-no) and exercise - although, when I asked, it was suggested that the level of exercise involved would be at elite athlete level, so maybe it works for pro RL players who are supreme athletes (well some of them ).
Travelling West to East has more impact than vice versa as the body clock has to advance. Not sure how the UK sides manage it but, generally, if you aren't going to be in N America long it is best to try and keep to somewhere near UK time to reduce the affects on return (so to bed in the early evening).
So, in some sense Noble is right, there might be a 'duty of care' issue especially for TWP players if TWP don't get fixtures in blocks. But, that was always going to be the case!

| If Toronto want blocks of games they should then fund the visiting teams flight and decent standard accommodation, or they can just get on like everyone else. If they want the league to pander to their needs, they should pay for it.

Not to worry, I'm sure you'll enjoy the trip to Hemel and West Wales next season.

Are they trying to set up local clubs? Is there an interest in actually playing the game, as opposed to just turning up and watching a pre-prepared product, so to speak?
I'm not a huge fan of Toronto playing in the English leagues anyway (because of the problems with travel etc.), but I'd definitely be more supportive if I knew that there was a serious attempt to develop the sport in the city, and a realistic possibility of it succeeding.

I'd recommend the Whippets and Flat Caps Podcast Episode 25 ( https://whippetsandflatcaps.podbean.com ... noble-mbe/). Long interview with Noble and unless he's the world's greatest conman then Toronto are working extremely hard to develop interest in junior players and amateurs.

Rather a flat cap than the dunces cap you wear.
