Little Pepe went to nursery school one day wearing his Widnes hat. His teacher asked him why he was a Widnes fan. He said, “Because my parents are.” His teacher said, “That’s not good. What would you do if your parents were drug dealers and hookers?” He replied, “Well then I would be a Warrington fan.”

I'd go for both. Although, if I was pushed to pick just one option, I'd have to say idiot.

My apologies - call it flat-cap paranoia.
I thought you were presenting the two posts you quoted as if they contradicted each other (which they did) and as if that was somehow weird or funny since both of the posters were Widnes fans.

Alarm bells rang when he repeated the 2000ish claim not once but multiple times after being corrected.
Guys a troll, probably the same sad old fool behind all the other comedy characters.

| Quote: Catalancs "rlTony Hannan's viewrl
For my own part, I would like to see some sort of all-inclusive early season competition structure from which clubs would win a place (or not) in the main ten-team Super League season proper, which would then play through to a four or five team play-off series and Old Trafford Grand Final. Those who didn’t make it this year (ah well, there’s always next season) would compete in an expanded, televised and – given the profile of some of the clubs taking part – more glamorous Super League 2, Premiership, Championship…. call it what you will. Will this happen? I doubt it – but it would kill pretty much every bird with one stone. The lower clubs would no longer have anything to moan about and could be rewarded for their efforts. We would have the greater intensity of top-level playing competition that we need and maybe even space for a mid-season tour down under. Now there’s a thought.'"
There’s no real structure to this suggestion or any explination of how it would be organised.
Quote: Catalancs " I would like to see some sort of all-inclusive early season competition structure from which clubs would win a place (or not) in the main ten-team Super League season proper, '"
Wouldn’t it be better to do this at the end of the season, thus give the promoted side a chance to build a squad for Super league? Why at the beginning of the season?
How can it be fair for a lower league club, with a team made up of part-time players and a much lower salary cap, to compete with a full-time SL club and the financial might it will have behind it? Is he suggesting that SL1 & SL2 should operate at the same level of TV money and salary cap?

You don’t say, Tony?

| Excellent news, only the most hardcore of the Peoples Protectionist Flatcappers Front could see this as a bad thing. The club showed real promise last year in every way and with Wales making the 4 nations next year a Welsh SL presence is vital.

I’m not knocking the idea but, in order to decide whether it can actually work, we need a bit more flesh on the bones. As it stands, it seems pretty meaningless.

probably a bit of both if the truth be known but thanks for giving some kind of explanation.I'm not criticising, belittling or mocking any contributors it's just that it doesn't matter to me personally if my team is top or bottom of whichever league,I will always support them so I find it difficult to accept the fickleness of sports fans - it's the same at TO - they will have their hardcore 1.5K supporters win or lose which would double if they were top of the league. The club chairman believes when they eventually hit the SL they will guarantee crowds of between 5K - 10K ! It sounds twaddle to me but who knows ?

Interesting that there is talk in that piece of potential interest from 'a South Wales-based consortium'. Hopefully not including Leighton Samuel!
