They have already said that any team that can not play will have their game aware to the other team. that way there will be a game of poker going on to se who blinks first. In the end, there will be a few 'byes' given.

Speaking from a personal point of view, I was there that night when we were well beaten 18-0 so don't feel aggrieved at all. In fact looking at the future fixtures think I am glad we don't have extra challenge cup games to play. |

We could end up with Saints, Warrington, Catalan who knows it's a random draw! I still think that is better then 5 teams walking into the quarters without even playing a game. |

It's a maximum of 4, with a further bye in the following round.
It's likely that it's not even a discussion point - cup competitions usually have very clear rules on what happens in the event of a club not fulfilling a fixture - I haven't looked them up, but I expect byes...unless there's an appetite to reinstate the teams that lost in the previous round.
But that includes lower league clubs too, so not an elegant solution.

Just let it roll.
Yes some clubs will effectively get a bye into the next round but, a re-draw will screw up the numbers anyway and cock up the next round.
It's a cup comp and it just the luck of the draw. |
