| Danny Ward has done a great job, and as a player he helped a newly promoted team survive in 2007.
London have a core of good players. Their fullback looks an excellent prospect. I’ve always thought Jay Pitts looks a decent player when i’ve seen him. They’ll have to strengthen, as any promoted team does. They’ll probably suffer the odd heavy defeat, and they might go back down, but I think they’ll bring more on their return than Widnes did this year. P&R does bring in ‘new blood’, and sometimes a struggling club needs to be taken out of the top flight firing line. When Huddersfield kept finishing bottom of SL and not being relegated, I suspect that did them more harm than good in a lot of ways.

| I think London probably need to bring in 10 players. Not over the hill journeymen but youthful with plenty of energy.
Wardy probably needs to bolster his coaching team too.
The challenge starts today I suspect. We need to get a team together before Xmas and get them training.
I would imagine the chairman will use Tony Rea and some of the ex Broncos contacts out in Australia to scout some players. They've had success using this model in the past with players like Dorn, Drinkwater, Tommy L, Mclinden, Vea, Hopkins, Anderson, Ex Cas England RU winger.... Blend them in with the London young lads and hopefully we can steer clear of relegation.

| Quote snowie="snowie"I take it they will get the label to be favorites for the drop but I think the RFL have missed a trick here to stop the yo yoing of clubs coming up and down from the championships, why couldn't they at least given clubs a years grace before being in the drop zone, its going to be one hell of a task to stay up next year
good luck Londarn
'" One thing...
This new setup is the product of the SL clubs not the RFL.

Is Tony Rea still talking with David Hughes after Tony lost his job there?
I suspect that as i write this agents are contacting David Hughes and Danny Ward with a list of players they have on their books, who might be capable of helping the Broncos stay in Super League, off course the problem might be wages, but time will tell

If and when the other two teams manage to secure a place in SL, then if they're good enough they will secure their place without we whoever we is, thereby ensuring their membership of super league on merit.

Fully agree about Ward. There weren't too many tipping London for promotion at the start of the season and he's done a great job down there.
As for the argument on "protection", you are right about Huddersfield, saved primarily because of their stadium, not to mention the "merger" with Sheffield and I think they are just finalising the logistics of playing in another county
However, Catalan certainly benefited from their protected years, although I'm not too sure that the Cas fans were too happy when they were relegated from 11th.
Any promoted side will have to spend big AND get lucky to avoid a quick return to The Championship.
However, it's right to have P/R settled on the field of play and thae game last night was one hell of a nail biter, WOW.
Cant imagine how that was for the fans of both clubs.
Personally, I'm still uncomfortable with the N. American experiment and the logistics of playing games over there, with short turnarounds and the climate (at the start of the season), not to mention the costs imposed on their opponents, not to mention the N.American clubs (although they at least go into this knowing what's in front of them) and I still believe that SL should have expanded to 14 clubs.
There will now be a serious test fo Toronto and their backers and another year (minimum) in The Championship is sure to test their resolve.
Well done London, David certainly beat Goliath

| If Widnes can hang on to their best players they could well challenge strongly for the championship next season, but i expect Toronto to strengthen again for next season, and in my opinion are favourites for the title, but favourites don't always win, and possibly Bradford could be the dark horses next season in the championship

| Lets have a car boot sale, Wigan could do with offloading Tautai, if either Sarg & Clubb wanted to go back we shouldn't stop them. Maybe Wigan could loan Marshall or Davies for the season. The problem with the market at the moment is Leeds want a new team so players will naturally gravitate towards them, or conversely it could open up the market, who knows , either way it could be exciting times for player transfers.
