This is correct they were founded by Rudi Dassler, brother of Adolf (Adi) Dassler the founder of Adidas, after the break up of the Dassler shoe company when they had a fall out.
Incidently both companies headquarters are still in Herzogenaurach a small town of about 23,000 people.

So is the correct pronunciation of 'Adidas' 'AH-DEE-DAS' or 'ADDY-DAS' then?
I've always pronounced it how it sounds in the first example.

| O'Neills are Irish. Make really good gear if you ask me. What about Umbro? Are they not English?

As already mentioned Umbro are owned by Nike. Mainly for the rights to the England football team apparently.

Never heard of first three but I can confirm Pro-Star are definitely British - based in Wakefield as it goes.
Just remembered Patrick? are they British?

| I think Kooga gear is really good. All their designs might not be too great but the actual shirts are really good. Although I don't mind a lot of the designs some people hate. Puma gear is horrible. Really thin and cheap with crappy badges. At least the World Cup jerseys they made were. I've only had one ISC one before and it was a few years ago. It was okay, about average. They're pretty much the three main ones. Blades make Tigers and Knights gear and they seem good. Classic hardly make any anymore. They were the best at the old cotton jerseys.
