I would be interested to know what the break even figure is for Magic, and how far below that figure the RFL would be willing to go for any other benefits the weekend brings.
The RU games at Wembley are 20,000 people short of break even, interesting to see if they will persist

break even? Going by the figures from Cardiff (I've not seen any for the deal with Edinburgh), the sport gets half a million pounds before a single ticket is sold.

But its only £10 a ticket with it also being buy one get one free. Still £10 too much for me.

I felt the same. I am not going this year but after going to Murrayfield last year I'm not bothered to be missing it. I am sure I will go again in a few years though when circumstances allow. |

Ta for that. Was just wondering how a previous poster came up with 40,000 being 20,000 short of break even. |

I am, but as is often pointed out, if a few take pain for the many it will be better at the end of the day.
As discussed many times this is a closed shop SL weekend, a flop may instigate a change of direction to re engage the many.
Economy and poor fixtures will help the flop, Edinburgh folk wont turn out and non SL fans are simply not interested. |
