| It is good to see the rl community come together to pay off bradfords debts. Well done media with all the exposure for the bulls cause.
Just like my team last year who recieved the same exposure in the media.. in fact not many gave a jot.
Regardless, Wakefield have come through stronger for it.
As for this bulls debt. Looks to be pulling some heartstrings to pay off some poor business management. I do feel for the supporters of bulls but can't help thinking they have been played like puppetts. The bod will be laughing their socks off having seeing their debts rubbed to 0 bit by bit.
Hope it all works out for bulls fans one way or another. Couldn't give a stuff about the management at bulls as they should reap what they sow.

| I've just been reading Dave Hadfield's [iUp And Over[/i from 2004, and came across this passage Only Bradford have so far broken free of the syndrome of success today, misery tomorrow.
'"
This pattern keeps repeating, and it could be that the mark of a well-run club is not the achievement of - at the time - seemingly perpetual success, but managing the inevitable decline without going bust.

| Quote: duke street 10 "This is something that really is sticking in my throat.
The board have got Bradford in this sorry mess, played the violin pulling on the heart strings of their supporters and the wider R.L public but not one of the board has stood down, or intend to....trying to pass the blame to R.B.S.
Nobody forced them to pursue and sign Harris (to this day still think they did this as a massive two fingered sign to Hetherington) and nobody forced them to throw God knows how much money at Matt Orford.'"
The Bradford BoD has changed since Harris was signed. In fact, the sports solicitor who used to be chairman (and who can't read a contract properly it seems) is the only shareholder to publicly come out and call for the Board's resignations. You have to admit, the irony is amusing. One of the main men responsible for the clubs funds being wasted on protracted legal disputes just so he could get one over on the chairman of the club's main rival questioning the ability of the people who've done their best to try and keep the club going.

Simple, everyone must donate double what they pledged into the begging bowl to get Bradford out of this mess they have got themselves in.

| The Bulls press release indicates there's a number of confidential talks currently on going that are around investment/takeover. If this comes off, this will sort the next 500k.
This links in with a rather lengthy meeting at the club today, which is why the pledge announcement was more than likely delayed.

| If they're calling the pledge in and it's not already a done deal then they need either a pretty solid plan B or a good lawyer. We're the Bulls so there is no plan B and Caisley is the lawyer.

How convenient for hood et al. No information will be provided to the people who forked out £500K+ to save the club.
And what if these confidential talks go pear shaped? You have £506K raised to see the bulls through for a few weeks. poor form.

Was anyone under any illusion that they weren't risking their cash?

| How long do they now have to actually raise this cash?
It's one thing to tell them that they have the money but how can they actually prove this until all the pledges are in?

| If investors now step in and take over the club, does this not mean that they will have taken over for £500K less than would have been required two weeks ago. If that is so then all these people who have given pledges have given money direct to the new investors and helped them increase the value of their investment and therefore their own personal wealth. It is the same as customers paying off the debts of a company, which then enables someone buy it for less.

Or alternatively meaning the current owners are not £500k lighter than they otherwise may have been if they have personal guarantees to meet with the bank? Not really sure how it works but something doesn't feel right from where i'm sat on my fat 'arris. Will be interesting to see how it pans out

You've done a lot of moaning about the RFL helping clubs, you've even invented stories about the RFL helping clubs. Now you're complaining about fans helping clubs.
Do you actually enjoy RL?
Would you like to remind us what the RFL did for your club, and how much money that involved??
