| i went to the lions against geelong in july. i found it alrite to watch in person but dammed impossible to watch a full broadcasted match.
outrating afl is all well and good. but this has to be maintained and then a lot more cash milked out of the TV deals next time. increasing revenue means the cap can be increased to be competitive with the afl and union to stop converts. 
aside from the tv, as important is bum in seats and afl kills league in this.. last year 8 NRL clubs increased and 8 decreased their average. i think with the momentum from 2009 maybe 10 clubs can post a decent increase and i beleive within 5 years we could be averaging 19-20k. |
