| Quote The JokerĀ®="The JokerĀ®"Scott Moore was very impressive albeit vs France and has consistently been the best English Hooker in the Competition, James Roby can not hit the levels he can from the Bench when he starts he is better suited as an Impact Hooker who can change the Tempo of a game, Matt Diskin should be nowhere near an England jersey on this seasons form...'"
Fair comment, but he hasn't impressed me as much in recent games. We should be selecting on form, not reputation, so we may well have changed our minds nearer the time. I accept your view on Diskin aswell. I only selected Godwin due to this theory, as his recent form has been excellent -first time he's been starting hooker for us- so a combination of him and Roby could work well. I'm sure we'll all be disappointed come the 4 nations anyway

| Quote CGD="CGD"It's interesting to note that for the 2004 Tri-Nations series, the Australian backline was, to my recollection, like this:
1. Anthony Minichiello
2. Luke Rooney
3. Willie Tonga
4. Shaun Berrigan
5. Matt Sing
6. Darren Lockyer
7. Brett Kimmorley
In comparison to what we could field this year, that is a rather poor backline. This may be a factor in your observations and perspective of GB/England chances against us over this period. Of course, that backline did play in that sublime, 38-0, first half performance in the Final. But it's something to consider nonetheless.'"
But look at the improvement of the Aussie backline when you write it down now. Then look at our backline from around the time, in fact look at what sort of team we could put out around then and see how far backwards we have gone when compared to now, especially in the pack.
The Aussies were much better than us back then, the gap is much bigger now

| where they that much better?
the year before (2003) they were lucky not to get handed a 3-0 ashes series loss...i just wish tests where 75mins long and in that 2004 tri nations they drew with NZ then scraped another last min win against GB then lost to GB...going into that final GB where the form team....
but hey ho....

If you were choosing now, surely you'd be choosing on form? If so, why include McGuire, O'Loughlin, Prcye & Gleeson?
Serious question, no dig.

| I love that one.
In 2003 Australia were almost swept 3-0 by Great Britain...but actually went home unbeaten!
YOU IDIOT!
And 2004, I remember that well, how many times did we lap GB again?
Stupid pommy idiots.

McGuire and O'Flannders have been in great form this season, and are probably the form players in their positions.
Pryce is still one of our best attacking players so it would make sense to at least have him in the squad.

Brough shouldn't get picked for England.
He nominated for Scotland and that should be that - same goes for the likes of Carvell. You make your bed, you lie on it.

Well said
Rugby league should take a stand and clamp down on this.
You play for the country you were born in or your parents were born in.
Once you make your choice you stick with it.

Maybe if we could have him play in Saints shirt. He has the classic John Barnes syndrome sadly.
