Well said - even in the 1930’s we were pioneering sustainable construction. It really does border on criminal that the RFL have sat on this vitally important piece of history and haven’t done anything with it.

I don’t think hindsight is a defence for their lack of effort in sorting out their ground. Shocking when you think about it.'"
Sorry Bully but, did anyone ever promise that or expect it to happen.
Why on earth would "we" build such a thing and who the hell would pay for it and for it's upkeep.
A 60/ 70000 capacity stadium would be a complete waste of money and the irony would be that, IF this was built at Odsal, it would be far too big for Bradford's current or future needs, which would leave them looking for a new home.

The RFL would pay for it it’s their ground and they’re obliged to do it. The game (via RFL) is privileged to be custodians of such an important part of - not just Rugby League but - Britain’s history and culture.
It would be too big currently for the Bulls alone but you’re thinking of it as just a place that stages championship games. Last year we had Bad boy Chiller Crew gig there and this year we’ve got Tom Zanetti amongst others. Major international acts like Beyoncé and Jay Z would be lining up to perform there if it had the facilities. Maybe oasis could reform for the opening after the RFL pull their finger out and get the work done.

As I said in the previous post, IF Odsal was ever converted into the Wembley of the North, it wouldn't be of any use to Bradford Bulls and it would be one hell of a financial gamble.
The RFL are not exactly blessed with money and should never have taken on the lease in the first place, it was a truly shocking business decision.

I agree they should hand it back if they aren’t going to/can’t build the stadium that they should be building. Well said.

All they need to do is to adhere to whatever was agreed at the time, to expect a conversion into "Wembley" or demand the return of the lease is somewhat optimistic (on both counts).
Reading some of the stuff about the condition of the place and the detrimental effects of having speedway back at Odsal, it make you wonder whether the retunr of the Bulls to playing there was another mistake ?

It was for me because much closer to Dewsbury's ground after I was moved out of Bradford following the incident. Actually Ingfield would be the best ground for me.

In retrospect perhaps it was a bad decision. At the time though it was getting the Bulls out of a hole, something the RFL had done for other clubs.

At the time it was blind panic and an attempt to save the Bulls.
However, it was a shocking decision, as was chucking away the £500k plus that they raised in donations.
It would be great to see a successful Bulls side back in SL and as their cup tie v Leeds 2 ord 3 years ago showed, there is certainly an appetite for RL in the city.
How to get back to SL and then stay there is the million dollar question.

When you said you nearly caught the plague when you went to Odsal, who did you go as?
