Seems one of our genuine posters can be bothered to call you out, my only worry posting this is you get high on people's indignation and it feeds your nasty little habit.

No reserves, but resilience, persistence and determination are omnipotent.: |
|
| Quote: Donnyman "Paul King Salford director......
[i“I sympathise with Catalans. If it wasn’t for their owner Bernard Guasch’s money, how would they compete? “Not going was never really a serious option. It’s something I considered for maybe half a day. “Would we really want a £15,000 fine and a 10-point deduction? a 10-point deduction is a serious situation".[/i
The reality is if Salford had decided not to go they effectively would be facing relegation. Whilst this is an extraordinary situation it still highlights the total drift in strategy where we have this one club so far out on a limb contributing nothing much to the game here and certainly nothing to the game in France, whose presence now threatens Salford's bank balance if not their survival as a pro club.
Notwithstanding the same nonsense being repeated with Toulouse.'"
Taking your ' logic ' to the next level, and I disagree that the international game will ' help ' the sport,it is mostly the case that the governing bodies pay for the internationals - I avoid, deliberately, the funding of club trips to Toulouse by the RFL.
By your logic the international sides are wasting their time, and money,to have internationals played.
I shall allow you to go to the Jamaican players and inform them of this, bearing in mind many of them funded a lot of things themselves.
Just because you want the sport played at the bottom of your garden shouldn't prevent the sport expanding.
Soccer clubs, another full time professional sport, travel long distances into Europe, should they prove successful enough in this country.
Strangely, those nasty horrible French clubs travel to England more times in a season than Salford do with their once a year visit to France.
I am surprised you are not acknowledging how professional and well - run,and non-complaining, those nasty horrible French clubs really are.
Maybe wealthy French people are better than wealthy males along the M62 corridor...

What exactly makes me ungenuine? The mere fact that I disagree with you?
But this is what forums are all about, everyone has a right to have an opinion.

isn't is what they chose to do, as British clubs teams have no choice at all in the matter

My point is factually correct.
The Super League club owners didn't want Toronto and allegedly voted them out - no doubt if the French clubs are NOT wanted, they could do similar;again.
As it was mooted, during the Licensing period,of a 20 miles gap between clubs, perhaps they could change it to a 20 miles maximum distance for all Super League clubs to travel.
Obviously I have used miles and no other measurement.
Twenty quid maximum travel costs,perhaps?
Exciting times ahead,then? I hate flying,anyway...

I do wish rugby league followers would take advantage of learning things, instead of implying/insinuating/hinting that I am less than truthful.

| Quote: Donnyman ""The ultimate aim is to strengthen the competition. This, it is hoped, will in turn produce more players able to compete successfully at international level".
This is the Linky, and of course the two top French clubs were incapable of producing international players who could take on England. Australia or New Zealand.
In fact they presided over a further drop in the numbers and quality such that the 4 nations became 3 nations and the England France test games were hidden away on a dark night in Leigh before being quietly abandoned.....
You win Buddy
It was referring to ENGLAND!
However,it now seems English players in,or with experience of, the NRL get selected as their competition is far superior,on and off the field, apparently.
It was meant to improve the standard of players in THIS COUNTRY.
Snowie still wins,though.
Where did Super League go so far wrong...?

They haven't refused to go, they were never scheduled to go as Part Time teams.
The RFL Board have confirmed that part-time teams in the Betfred Championship will not be required to fulfil away fixtures against Toulouse Olympique for as long as the current UK Government quarantine regulations (which require players and other staff to isolate for at least 5 days on their return from France) remain in place.
That means Toulouse’s home fixtures against Featherstone Rovers and Widnes Vikings, scheduled for May 1 and 8 respectively, will be postponed – but their first home match of the season, against London Broncos on April 18, will go ahead because the Broncos are a full-time squad.
