| As much as a bar steward Hardaker is, to want him to suffer a career ending injury is pretty despicable to be honest.

| I’m genuinely shocked that anyone would be willing to sign him.
Why would anyone trust that he won’t do the same thing, or something equally idiotic, again in the future?
He had so, so many chances at Leeds. He was going to be a changed man when he was booted from the England camp. He was going to be a changed man when he was banned for homophobia. He was going to be a changed man when he was convicted of assault. He was going to be a changed man when he joined Castleford.
I’m pretty sure he will be a changed man again as soon as his ban ends, but anyone who believes him is ridiculously naive.
Only a fool would trust him again.

| You could say the same about Ben Barba.

I’m not sure he’s at the same level of idiocy as Hardaker to be honest, but I guess that’s subjective!
There’s also the argument that a huge environmental change (ie moving from the other side of the world) is more likely to make a difference than moving between two adjacent counties.
Even so, if Barba can keep his nose clean until he returns to the NRL, even if it’s one season, they will have had a good deal. In Hardaker’s case, he can’t stay out of trouble for a season.

Chris Brookes was not the Wigan doctor in the early/mid nineties. IIRC he joined mid 2000's to replace Dr Zaman who became the Latics club doctor.

| I just hope that Cas show the same vigour and ruthlessness we showed in the Solomona case when Hardaker signs elsewhere.
Ultimately Hardaker’s behaviour was a breach of contract. As his was the repudiatory breach, as his employer Cas were well within their right to sack him but still claim for any financial loss, including replacing the player.
It’s exactly the same as the Adrian Mutu case. He failed a drugs tests (cocaine) and was sacked by Chelsea, who then recovered the cost of his transfer fee (£13m) and also the cost of replacing him (£22m). Mutu appealed to every court possible but failed every time. His breach of contract left him personally liable for all Chelsea’s financial loss, including “the wasted costs of acquiring the Player and the cost of replacing the Player” (quoted directly from the court judgement).
From a purely business point of view, Cas can’t afford to spunk £150k on a player and then simply walk away when said player breaches his contract. We perused Solomona even though he cost us nothing to start with and the case was more complex, so I’m hoping we are gunning for Hardaker.

No because it is neither a UKAD nor RFL judgement......but potentially the independent panel (Sports Resolutions) who judged on the case (ie the appeal against the mandatory ban) between UKAD and Hardaker may well have.

You have to be a made up person. Nobody has the temerity to make up blatant lies about a club, wish a career ending injury of a player and then question someone elses morals...

Still waiting. I will be waiting for a long time because proof doesn't exist.

Why not? Cas did!
His off-field record at Leeds was far worse, yet Cas took him on & paid £150k for the privilege!

| Wonder what Rangi Chase thinks about this outcome, bet he wished he could fast forward his mental impairment problems by 18 months.

Mr Chase tweeted yesterday, "do the line, do the time," which I guess is a barbed comment at the different punishment he received for broadly the same offence.

Freudian slip for another current naughty man-of-steel contender at fullback?
