| Well, he's not wrong in that Salford DID lose to a champ club last year and still stayed up (and even avoided the mpg).
However, the difference this time around is the order of the fixtures and the recent loss at home to HKR has left them on only 2 points after three games. You would expect them to still be on 2 points after their next game as well (Leeds).
The combination of losing to at least two SL clubs and also at least one champ club means you're pretty much nailed on for the mpg at best. Salford's last three games are against the remaining three champ clubs London, Batley and Featherstone. They will be under some serious pressure in those games, knowing that anything less than 3 wins could see them automatically relegated.
Despite all this, I still think Leigh will find themselves in the mpg - most likely against Salford. Their recent match up could quite easily have gone the other way had Salford been a bit more clinical with their chances.
As I've mentioned previously in this thread, Leeds could still cause chaos in these 8s if they get themselves safe before the last round of fixtures and go into their game against Leigh with pretty much nothing to play for and lose.

| To get back to the original focus: are we (as a grey haired and grey bearded Salfordian, we) going down: it's very possible. The body language on Friday v HKR suggested no confidence by the team. We're losing MCB who is a proven try scorer. We have a visit to Headingley and our record there is only slightly better than the survivability rates of pilots flying Kamikaze missions. We (i.e. the fans, the players, the staff, and the public) await Dr K's decision on him staying. As far as we know no one else is interested in running Salford (Mr Orange has showed a little but I have reservations about this). This uncertainty is affecting fans and players.
If we go down, will we survive? With the costs of the AJ Bell and less finance: NO.
Gloat. I'm not.

The Dr's latest threat intrigues me, did he issue his warning of walking away before the Huddersfield game, only everything seemed rosy at that point?
For the life of me I don't know why he didn't just keep shtum until after the competition.

| The statement came after the appeal was dismissed. From sources very close to the doctor, he was quite optimistic of winning. But the statement to announce a decision AFTER the mid eights is the cruncher for me.
This is a personal opinion: on Friday (v HKR) the body language of our players showed little self-belief. There was some evidence of this in the preceding game v Leigh. It doesn't take much to get into a person's thinking: the comment that he might pull the plug will niggle away as the players' bread depend on their salaries. As professionals they will try to fight through this but the effect weakens their resolve when other matters cause problems (as the many errors on Friday did). Confidence and self-belief are key to sporting success: they looked missing. I am putting some of this (OK, much of this) down to the uncertainty of our future. An easy matter to solve.
As for the three possible investors: who? Who would take on a club with declining gates (don't blame the Salford posters/viewers on here: we go), with the expense of the A J Bell and possible Championship games' finances, and taking on the marketing power of City and United to get people interested?
Oh well, they're my team and my wrinkles.

Agree with most of this but think Leighs result v kr and hudds will determine mpg.salford v hudd has my money on it .Although I'm still not confident my team is safe

| I'll say it then. Well done Leigh. A superleague club will be relegated and I have to admit I'm well pleased about it.
The mpg is likely to be a combination of two Salford, hull KR and Huddersfield.
Enjoy it and remember no moaning! Ha ha ha ha

From all I've read and all I'v been told, no one enjoys the MPG.
And it's now our only hope; we might not even get that far.
When I was mulling over the mid 8's, I mentioned to some friends that if both Salford and Huddersfield were relegated, with no offence to our colleagues in Hull, it ceases to be the M62 game. It becomes the M6/M1 game.
