| Wouldn't it be easier to ask Wane what he thinks his guys should get before we go to the disciplinary.
It will save costs on the appeal and the subsequent U-turn by the RFL.

| Wane the hypocrite has a short memory span about players and coach influencing the game. Wane and Bateman versus Joe Cobb reffing the Huddersfield game was.t that long ago.

| So the same guy who said this....“Some of the comments from Leeds after the game – and before the match review panel – massively influenced everything,” he told Wigan Today.
“Which I think is really poor and disappointing."
Came out with this a few years back.....at least McDermott was upset at a tackle that could've injured his player, the McGuire incident took place vs Catalans so Wane had no reason to talk about it and wouldn't have done if Leeds weren't facing Wigan that week.
"If there's any consistency from the review panel and the disciplinary then Danny won't be playing on Friday because, if anything, what he did was worse than what Micky did," Wane told the Wigan Observer.
"I expect him to be suspended. It's straightforward to me, if Micky got three weeks for what he did... but I'm not holding my breath on that one. I'll be watching it closely"

At least the Leeds players didn't man handle the referee unlike the Wane's boy Charnley, when he was challenging a decision.

He could get cited and won't have the mitigation he already missed half a game so could end up with a longer ban than curly locks

Whilst I agree with him about players trying to influence the ref, Wigan have plenty of their own players who do just the same.
Tomkins is as bad as any and Wilkin ,for Saints, isn't too far behind.
But, the original ban of 2 games for that tackle, which could have put the player out for the season, is not exactly harsh.
It's time that ref's, being pressured by players over various decisions, started marching teams back 10 metres.
It would instantly stop the "football style" complaining from players.'"
I'm absolutely sick to ing death with the players complaining to the officials. And it's not just the thick "what's that for?" when they've blatantly done something wrong, it's the "eff off you effing knob" as they jog past the ref back into the line that's constantly going on.

Which just proves what an utter pr|ck he is.'"
I don't think a single person outside of Wigan's fanbase has respect for that man. I even know a few Wiganers who don't like the bloke.
He's absolutely full of merde!

As a Wigan fan sometimes I have to say he makes me cringe. He's obviously got a good rugby brain and the players are prepared to run their blood to water for him, the number of players who have returned to the club show that he manages them well. I don't think he's the most academically gifted shall we say, his biggest problem is he often talks from the heart instead of the head and says things that I sure others are thinking but smart enough not to say.
One thing a lot of fans are guilty of is believing media reports to be the absolute truth, reporters ask leading questions and attempt to create a story which gets people talking and subsequently makes money for their publication and words are often selectively quoted and presented in a way where they can be taken out of context. Wane should be smarter and not get duped into giving the answer the reporter wants but also a lot of fans need to be smarter and understand how the media works.

| McDermott's post match interview is good viewing
"I'm not speaking as a coach, I'm speaking as a bloke who doesn't want to see those tackles, if Shaun Wane is genuinely saying don't speak about this because we want to get away with it and he wants to continue getting away with it then I'm coming back saying you shouldn't be using those types of techniques"
"I think it's poor form for him to put his players eligibility first before the game and players safety."
"What we're talking about now is whether you can cynically break his knee when he's not watching when someone else has held him up like two bullies holding him up against a wall..... I think it's a pile of cr@p and I think Shaun Wane trying to defend his player is very poor form"
Spot on!

| It's a good tirade from mcdermott, talks sense. He's right, Wane don't give a sh*t about the potential danger of the tackle, just doesn't want his player banned.
