| Quote: Smiggs "No way on earth were there twice as many Hudds fans as Hull fans yesterday.'"
So if the club say that 2355 fans went I to the away end using the turnstyles clicks as a counter why would you dispute it.
Just because there are a lot of fans in one end all singing so that they create an atmosphere and the other fans are spread out over three larger stands.
We sold 4000 season tickets and had a push with bring a buddy vouchers.
First game of the season you would expect ST holders to turn up so 4000 plus 1382 buddy fans/ walk ups sounds entirely plausible.
As I understand it from a Hull fan you sold 1800 tickets and then had 555 walk ups again sounds reasonable.
where were these extra Hull fans sitting that you think were there. Was their a spare 1000 of them lurking in with the Giants fans in the Riverside or John Smiths stands.
But don't let facts get in the way of a good story.
Yours was the best attendance by any away fans for an ordinary league game for 4 to 5 years at Huddersfield. Well done.
Ever since we stopped being whipping boys away fans have stopped coming to Huddersfield in as big a numbers although after yesterday they might start coming back.

| Have the Giants said it was turnstile clicks? Or tickets plus walk ups?

| Quote: JONNYGIANT "Great turnout from the FC fans today but the capacity of the stand was under 3000 with the sponsors drapes covering 2 of the 5 sections ,i would say about 2600 there, still a great effort'"
With being pedantic, there are 6 sections, the two with sponsors draping were the two on either end which are half the size of the middle two. Still I was sat in that end and the sections occupied were pretty much full.

Where did you get this info from? It's not on the Giants official website.

| The stand holds 4054 that is reserved seating its just over 3800 for unreserved.. Around 1000 seats were covered up by sponsors drapes and even then the stand wasn't full.. So 2300 is probably right. I will get the official figure tomorrow probably.
But as has already been said it was the best following for hull for 6 years the first time in 3 games any team from hull has posted a 4 figure attendance and only the 5th 2000+ away crowd in 3 years so well done hull fans

| When you look at these numbers its also worth noting that prior to SL crowds were considerably lower at some clubs. I started watching Leeds in 1981 and the average that year was about 5.5 k. Even during the Hanley-Schofield era (often cited as a glory period for British RL) the average was nearer 10 k than 15.

| Quote: loiner81 "Can't remember who it was, one of the usual suspects, that claimed attendances would be up this year BUT only because of London.
So after one round...
Hull KR v Leeds 11811 up from 11526 in 2014
Widnes v Wigan 9269 up from 6223
Saints v Cat 12008 up from 11321
Wire v Salford 11864 up from 10120
Hudds v Hull 7737 up from 6370
Cas v Wakey 10728 up from 9182
Great start to 2015, cheers to all those in London for the hard work.
Yes crowds on average will be higher this year mainly because of London not being in Super League, but a majority of clubs still have a lot of work to do to raise there home crowds by a larger amount.
I remain disappointed with some clubs efforts to get their average crowds up more.

Salford Red Devils RLFC.

| It will be interesting to see what Salford’s attendance is this Thursday v St Helens.
The club have done a substantial amount of marketing in the local and surrounding areas with initiatives such as free transport for various schools and local amateur teams. Shame our first game is a Thursday night and on Sky but I would hope it’s higher than the 6,353 who were at the corresponding fixture last season.
