Surely, if you really believe something is going to happen, then you aren't risking anything.
In your position it's a win/win and it's just a bit of "harmless fun".
I think by not accepting a bet for charity, regardless of any previous good charity work that you have done, you are seen as running away.
FWIW, Dr K will do whatever he wants and nobody within his empire is safe, even IF they become SL champions.

Tip toe around it all you want.
If you were so certain about your own views you'd jump at the chance to be proven right. Listing your supposed charity work as some kind of sideways shuffle around the subject doesn't make you look any better. It's not if someone disagrees with you, it's that in this case they made a fair offer to see whose outcome would happen first. You'd get a little more respect by just being honest and backtracking your statement or taking the bet.

I've never understood the betting facination.
Putting money on an opinion does not make it any more or less valid. It just shows that you are more or less of a risk taker?
If I think Amor and Swift will play this week, how will putting £25 (to which ever worthy cause) prove me to be more right or manly.
The £25 has zero effect on my genetic structure.
The £25 has zero effect on Nathan Brown.
I would much rather be the bookie (stock broker). Let others take their risks about their opinions and be the really clever one who risks little in offsetting one risk taker against another.
