| Quote: dubairl "of course i watched him as much as possible, but he wasn't the same defence ripping player he was in the MOS season. This year against better teams and he got 3 assists in one match so its more than a couple. Not many players scored 20 tries as season in the NRL. My point being is he isn't struggling just like he didn't in super league.'"
Sam Tomkins' reputation as being overrated and overpaid, held by some on the RL fans' forums, is a product of ignorance and resentment. Sam Tomkins is one of the best full backs in the world.

| The Sam debate continues, but who wouldn't want him in the their SL team.
I'd love to have him back in a Wigan shirt, he is worth the enterance fee alone sometimes.

| There is just that many quality players in the NRL that make Tomkins look more ordinary over there. Fullbacks alone, Inglish, Slater, Hayne, Dugan, Stewart and Barba would all make a mockery of Super League, just like Tomkins has done over the last few years.

| Locke fit move to 1
Tomkins plays 6
Johnson 7
Both half backs have a running and kicking game, frightening really.
Plus internationally we have a Tomkins/Widdop combo with Hardacker at 1

I hope they do that. I'm against picking Sam at 6 for England unless he is playing for his club there. I think it is his best position. Tomkins/Widdop combo with Hardacker at 1 looks good foe England imo

I will be very surprised if Sam Tomkins is selected in the halves for the Warriors. They already have an in form Tommy Leuluai and Chad Townsend covering the five eighth spot, so they would be silly to shift Sam Tomkins there.
Kevin Locke is too good not to be playing in the NRL. If he is not being selected for the Warriors he should look elsewhere. North Queensland would be well advised to bid for him. He is a much better player than any full back currently on their books, including the injured Lachlan Coote.

Not wanting to jinx anything, but being reported as a done deal to Salford. To save everyone the bother: "Waaahhhhh, salary cap, he'll get bored and walk away, attendances, Locke's not even that good anyway etc. etc."

that would be an excellent signing for salford.sooner or later some of these big names from NRL are going to start taking the Doctors cash.this would be a good start.

What is your source?
If Locke comes to Salford this year he will guarantee them a playoff position. It will then also be delightful to watch Salford play Wigan, with those teams then having the two most dazzling full backs in Super League.

Little more than rugbyleagueweek.com.au/locke-salford/ and a seemingly well informed Kiwi poster on the Turkey at the moment. I fully expect to look like an idiot when he signs a new contract at the Warriors.

| Sam Tomkins had an excellent game last night, in a resurgent New Zealand Warriors team, as they thrashed Canberra Raiders 54-12.
He was not the star of the match: that honour was shared between Konrad "Hurricane" Hurrell and Shaun "Magic" Johnson. However Sam scored a try and was instrumental in assisting two others.

| Sam Tomkins maturity as a player is really rubbing off on the flamboyant warriors players. They are starting to play structured and its paying off. Those flick ons was immense and he did it earlier in another game. He did it on the right hand side and then the left quality.

| Mind you the Raiders are languishing third from the bottom.
Hardly a big Scalp.

I would suggest bigger than anything SL has to offer at the moment.

I get your point but he hasn't only done it against the raiders.
