If that's the case and, as suspected, he's been scapegoated the management need dismissing even at this late stage otherwise the whole thing could run and get worse. If true the management / coach will already have lost any respect the had from the players.

This is a fecking joke, but I suppose we really need to see what comes out in the wash tomorrow. If it's a case of getting the rotten apple out of the squad then that should be that. If more have been found in breach, then it leaves Macbannana with a serious dilemma: risk the squad imploding, or attempt a certain degree of damage limitation...

According to senior Business Management all across the world, here are 3 types of employees.

1. Those that buy into your Core Values and Can do the Job you need doing the way you want it done.

These people are great and are gold dust.....and few and far between.

2. Those that buy into your Core Values and Can't do the Job you need doing the way you want it done.

These people are great as they can be taught/trained to do the job you need doing, the way you want it done.

3. Those that do not buy into your Core Values, but can do the job you need doing, the way you want it done.

These are people that senior business leaders around the world all say should be removed form any environment that has intentions of growing/prospering. They are Toxic.

Now, regardless of his talent and ability to play the game, I would identify Hock as a "3"

It may be that "other" players were involved, but they are either #1 or #2 type people and therefore, there is a benefit to keeping them in the squad.

I'll hold off judging him until the facts are fully out.

If there is more than one person committing the same offence though, then that is grossly unfair regardless of Hocks dubious past.

If the RFL had spent as much money on books on strong management rather than books on spin marketing, then maybe, just maybe, nobody would be in a position to pre-judge him.
If, as has been rumoured, "other players" were involved and "even more players" are unhappy with the way it is being dealt with, then the only people who could contain and control this gossip are the RFL themselves.....

A strongly worded statement regarding the stance taken by the RFL, regardless of the eyes of the world being upon them and the RLWC, would have highlighted the core values that the sport adheres to and shown that they will not accept behaviour unbecoming of a capped England Rugby League International,....it would have show a game with backbone, a game with principles and maybe even would have galvanised the squad.......

...instead, we get

...-weak management in my opinion and further proof of the unsuitability of the current RFL management to lead the game onwards and upwards.

I'm led to believe the RFL were going to announce an injury to Hock which necessitated his withdrawal from the England squad.

Twitter put paid to that icon_cool.gif

I look forward to making note of who is selected on Saturday and who might well be considered conspicuous by their absence from that line-up.
