| Is the RLWC ticket website working properly for anyone else? The main link seems to crash and I've tried on two different computers in both IE and Firefox and can't get the stadium maps to display
When I do get through, amongst other things I'm looking to buy the multi-game offer for Headingley but just clicking on that prompts it to generate an error every time.
They should have stuck with the normal RFL ticket website which seems to work OK most of the time.

I've had similar issues with the map not displaying before. firefox doesn't seem to like it. Think there are some instructions of what to do if your using IE8.

from a very good article - lots of positive noises despite the obvious trouble that they are having. they do need to ramp up the publicity, but they are right about league fans leaving it late to buy. very important juncture in the history of rugby league, i feel www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2 ... -best-side
And yet. A quick scan of the cuttings reveals that rugby union's rival home World Cup in two years' time has had more press coverage than the league version that begins in less than 100 days at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, with Australia v England and Wales v Italy. Two hundred thousand tickets have been sold, but that still leaves organisers 300,000 short of their target with three months to go.
Bolton says she is targeting ticket sales of 500,000, and organisers say they have reached 40% of that figure with three months to go. More than 40,000 tickets have been sold for the final at Old Trafford, which still leaves some way to go to sell out. Wood says that rugby league fans tend to commit late and Bolton is convinced the groundwork the towns and cities, which had to bid competitively to host matches, have been putting in will pay off. She will not say it, but the inference is clear – this will be a friendly, warm contrast to union's big stadiums and corporate offering.

| One thing I have suggested before and haven't seen happen yet is getting players on TV shows. Surely it can't be that hard to get Tomkins on chat shows like Graham Norton, Jonathan Ross, Alan Carr etc or Sinfield on Saturday Kitchen, This Morning, The One Show or whatever else is out there.
Whether you like these shows or not, collectively they reach millions each week...and even just one mention of 'i'm an England international, we have a massive World Cup coming up and we're hosting it' at the very least raises awareness, and could lead to better viewing figures and ticket sales.
i'd also get other sports involved if they are RL freindly, such as Gillingham FC have supported London recently, Manchester United have players who are RL fans and have chosen to host a RL world cup game but turned down RU's offer...get a couple of players to appear pre-match at a big Football game and again you've at least made a new audience aware.

Maybe a bit closer to the time we'll see it happen?
Most of the stars who go on shows like Graham Norton have something due to come out in the next few days/couple of weeks (a film, book, tour etc). Maybe three months is a bit early for it, & a couple of weeks before it starts is the ideal time.
Time it along with an offer for late tickets.

| The thing we do have is time, plenty of time. We're not talking tickets at £100+ that people need to save up to buy. I'm sure plenty will see the ticket prices and wait, maybe until after the play-offs.
I bought my tickets to the final a year in advance to take advantage of the offers, I'll buy tickets to other matches nearer the time.
The tournament will be what we make it.

| Got tickets for the Wembley double header, did the package deal with the CC Final tickets. Also booked coach to Cardiff, will sort out those tickets this weekend. Going to do the final as well, so will get them soon too.

I've tried using IE, I've tried using Firefox. I've tried using their IE instructions. I've tried on computers at work, two at home and one elsewhere!
Until they get the map of Wembley working so I can see where I'm buying tickets for I'm not buying for that event, nor for the other games I'm planning on attending. RLWC's loss. It's not hard is it.
