Hetherington in November.
Leeds offer players something more than just financial reward. They offer the chance to win trophies in a special environment. And Leeds are excellent at helping prepare players for life after rugby league. Most of the first team have done or are doing some kind of diploma, degree or professional qualification. For instance the club helped Diskin setup his property management firm, Kylie Leuluai has passed his accountancy exams, and I think Ian Kirke is studying to become a lawyer.

Leeds should be applauded for this. You don't have to break the cap to win trophys, I wish Hull were in a position to sign players for less money, with the draw of winning trophys

Yep, it came on the back of building a team from the academy which enabled the kind of attitude/environment currently at Leeds. We'd had decades of spending and throwing money at average/over the hill/uninterested players and trying to buy success and it nearly bankrupted the club. Then Uncles Gary and Paul came along, steadied the ship, and steadily grew the club on and off the pitch.
You can see why most Leeds fans think quite highly of Hetherington!

Unlike his twin brother Kath, who could have taken our club onto the next level after 05 cup final and 06 grand final. Sir Adam is finally spending money in the right place like youth and training facilities after years of neglect. Hopefully their will be 2 Yorkshire clubs in the grand final in the next couple of years

Virtually every international player Leeds have had in recent years has come through their academy - Ellis and Ali would be exceptions.
You obviously have little understanding of Hetherington and his MOW - Leeds will never break the cap or even come close to it. Good planning means they constantly have youngsters coming through the ranks on low wages. Look at the back line: Hardaker, Jones Bishop, Watkins, Hall all have come through the ranks with the exception of Hall none will be on huge money. That is how win GFs without breaking the bank.

| In order that I can fully understand the re-occurring topic that is "the salary cap", can anybody point me in the direction of a list of salaries paid to each player at each club? Just wondering how come people are always so sure how much each team is spending on salaries as opposed to all the rumour and speculation that very often flies around our game.

In the case of Leeds, Hetherington has frequently said that we are below the maximum allowed for the salary cap, in case the right player became available.

It's not wise to make libelous assertions without evidence. What makes you think these clubs are 'over the cap' when the SL financial folks obviously don't? Any facts and figures?

Generally speaking, "IMO" tends not to work as a defamation defence. It's customary to divulge the information that led to you forming that opinion.

Mixture of guesswork and jealousy I assume.
