you know, i'm very surprised that so far no other club has taken a look at our signings and made an offer to take horne next season - a cheeky offer might just work for the likes of cas or wakey. wonder if cas might be tempted if chase goes?

It's not concern, just my opinion that Sharon is $hite. I'm actually quite glad you are looking likely to be lumbered with him icon_biggrin.gifANCE:

Yeah so he didn't have the best season with you. But Rovers are pretty crap and alot of overseas players struggle in their first season in SL just like Brett Finch and Pat Richards did for Wigan just to name two.

Good luck with Craig Hall at fullback next season if that's who you go with icon_wink.gif

When Prince is on form he's easily one of the best attacking halfbacks around. When he's not, he's awful. The main difference is simply how much he takes on the line, as once he does start moving he's one of those players who creates space and options all around him. When he doesn't, he offers very little (he also disappears in defence at times). Last year for the Titans he was static for most of the season, but started to play again at the end of the season, and looked really impressive. Of all the halfbacks in the NRL its probably the gap between his best and worst which stands out.

If he's on form he'd be the best halfback in SL by some distance IMO. If he's not, everyone will wonder what the fuss is about.

Not sure mate. Maybe that was another reason Wigan pulled out although Ian Lenagan didn't mention that in the interview I saw.

That is what I was thinking, also with Huddersfield coming out saying they are looking for a stand off to replace Brown.

I don't think it'll be long before they are many "menzies" going around. The players these days are a lot fitter and should they do well with injuries then most players will be hanging there boots up 35+.

I love threads like this though, seems to me people are getting worried. I mean its only Hull FC.

To be fair, I think you're right. We've just singed Manu, who's no spring chicken and given him 3 years and no one's that worried. Lynch is still going great guns for you at a similar age, as is Tony Puletua for us.

I agree with the above comment about more older statesmen but I think that's because of the lower amount of quality in and around the middle age group above "youngsters" but below your "veterans". Say between 25-29 by next season (Born 1984-198icon_cool.gif. I could be wrong, but I'm struggling to think of many quality players in that bracket, such as Atkins & Hill for Warrington. For us, Bridge & Grix also fall in that bracket (4 out of 25). As a percentage (just guessing would be interesting to know if anyone could tell me) that this age bracket has a smaller quantity of players than your 30+ and 24- in the 14 SL squads top 25 only. Thing is players like Myler, Riley, Harrison, etc are not "youngsters" as such and been around SL for a while now but are still 24-. If this turns out to be the case, could anyone explain why?

Hodgson 34 YO. 2 year extension.
Morley 35 YO. 1 year extension.
Briers 34 YO. 1 year extension.

All of these will be 35+ by the time they hang up their boots. They might not be up to playing every week, but we have the squad to rotate these guys to keep them fresh for the "bigger" games. Improved sports science and conditioning will certainly help to keep players playing for longer, no doubt. But is it a good thing having players like Menzies around potentially holding back a youngster from getting SL experience? I'm not so sure. Using Briers and O'Brien as an example here, I'd be wanting Briers to go again.

Have to say that that 17 is as good as any other SL team will be able to put out.

Depending on injuries etc that team is capable of sliverware.

Not sure what you have as back up mind

Well he did quote 22 players within the "17" so i guess that's most of the back-up
