What are you talking about?
You can clearly see him biting his ear! Both stood up and on the floor.
Just because Slater's injury doesn't look as bad as Hollyfields doesn't mean the intent wasn't there.

| That is not the mark of someone who has just had his ear intentionally bit by a 17 stone bloke, I was expecting it to be hanging off after reading this thread.

You're right he probably did it in the pre game chess tournament.

"Any suspension of greater than two weeks would rule him out of England's two end-of-season Tests against Wales and France, neither of which could be counted towards his NRL ban"
Don't really understand the logic here, if he's unavailable through suspension the games should count, if they don't count towards a suspension he should be free to play. Can't have it both ways surely?

| He is a soft scouse get. An 18 stone bloke doesn't need to bite a weed to get his message across. Coward. A typical response that you would expect from a fat ginger kid who is being bullied.

| Now I've seen the photos of Slater's ear, I'm not sure what the big deal is.
It certainly isn't a bite as far as I can see.
Looks more like a cut from a punch or at worst a bang from a tooth when heads clash.

Maybe he's got rubber teeth?

I'm from Hull originally, now in the South, so CSI Hertfordshire if you please.
I have no former team allegiances here so if he actually did do it I couldn't give a stuff. However from looking at the incident and the injury sustained I see no correlation that suggests that was caused from Graham biting him.
Where is the brusing for one thing? When you bite you create crushing forces, if you've ever seen anyone being bitten hard enough to cause a puncture wound you'll see brusing afterwards. that isn't present in that photo, in fact it looks like a clean cut. Show me teeth that can create such a neat little cut with no other damage around the ear..you're all in cloud cuckoo land!
This just shows how inept not only the press are but how easily people are ready to condemn someone before studying the facts, it goes against the innocent until proven guilty system that we have so long stood by.

| Doesn't look anything like a bite does it, wound if far too small for a bite. At worse its an impact from his front teeth as the head goes in.
Obviously many on this forum want to make it worse than what it is, if Slaters ear is hanging off or a piece of ear is making then yes there is a case.
Good job it wasn't Tomkins the accused he would have been banned for life on here?

Aye, but also notice that interestingly Slater/Melbourne aren't going to submit any visual evidence of the bite mark.

I'm watching this closely to see how Graham pleads, if you search on the popular video website that shall not be named
- James Graham V Jason King - "Run Again Son"
and
- James Graham OWNS Sam Burgess
you'll find in both those incidents Graham applies the same bear hug like maneuver that he had on Slater. You can also note that in both he shouts into King and Burgess ear, in the King case(at18-20 saeconds) it looks very much like the same bite action against Slater even though he was just talking in his ear
some people watching even thought he did try and bite King ( www.thekennel.net.au/forum/showt ... 79&page=23) in the Manly game (he didn't, but i'm just using devils advocate to show shouting at the right angle can look otherwise)
Now as I said already I think Graham did have a nibble on Slater. But he could have a halfcase and if i was him i might just chance my arm and go not guilty. He can already demonstrate that in another finals game when shouting in a players ear people mistook it as a bite, and he can show that bear hugging and shouting closely into peoples ear is his style of fighting. at the least i might expect him to argue he was shouting in his ear and accidentally bit Slater.
but you're all definitely biased saints fans lol he'll be found guilty no doubt

Graham was wearing a gumshield, meaning that aby resulting bite wound wouldn't look like a typical bite mark. A small laceration is likely considering the flexibility of the ear tissue and the lack of grip a gum shield would have given Graham when biting.
I couldn't care less whether he's banned for it or not - yes it's a disgusting act (and from viewing the video, in my opinion it's clear he bit him) - but Slater is an odeous little creature - any violence directed his way is greeted with a slight grin from me..... Not a very nice thing to admit, but hey ho - Slater is a grub.

Yes, that *is* interesting. They'll have to rely on high-resolution photographs taken at the time. And broadcast-quality video. And witness testimony. And Graham pleading guilty.
